2019 tacoma no sound when txt comes in

Hey guys, just wanting to know if theres a way to make it so when i get a txt it makes a noise on a 2019 tacoma? as of now my phone is paired and when someone calls it rings thru the trucks speakers. however when i recieve a txt message nothing happens whatsoever unless i physically pick up the phone and see that a txt has came thru. I'm sure they did this as a safety feature and also to discourage texting and driving, however I'm wondering if theres a setting somewhere that changes this?

Mine turns the radio down and plays my ding sound then resumes radio. It also pops up a diag and reads my text.

It took me awhile to figure this out myself. Once your phone connects to the truck push the setup (I have an SR) button


Then tap the phone icon on your touch screen.



Then tap connect phone



Then tap your device (phone)



Then tap disconnect as an audio player



Then click ok



I have to do this every time I start the truck. If anybody knows how to do it permanently I'd like to know that. My truck wouldn't allow me to do this sequence unless I was in park or stopped. Let me know how you make out. I stumbled upon this because I was trying to use maps with turn by turn voice and it wouldn't talk to me. Mine will work as a phone without doing this though.
