Hey everyone. I'm new here so looking for some of your expertise.

I just got my Tacoma a few days ago and noticed today that the passenger low beam is working intermittently, at least initially.

It takes a few times of me cycling the lights on and off and then it will turn on and stay on, but i don't prefer doing this. My first step as always was to check the fuses. Those looked fine for now.

My next step is to check the harness to make sure that is connected tightly.

The previous owner also had installed a light bar and grille lights which are still wired up but not currently working. It looks like they have it tapped to the main battery and I'm curious if some of the wiring the previous owner did for the light bar could be taking some power away from that passenger headlight while the vehicle is starting up.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance!

Like you mentioned. Check all connections and how and where he tapped aftermarket lights/wiring into. Most use shitty connectors. He may have had different headlight lamps in there as well. Theses truck are very touchy on their wiring and aftermarket adds.

Thanks @na8rboy ill check everything out that you mentioned. I'm considering removing all of the light bar wiring that they did and redoing it myself so that I know it gets done the right way.

Aftermarket fuckery can be the cause here. First, is the lamp an HID or an LED? These can have flicker issues. Remove and replace with good quality halogens.

Next, just because a fuse looks good doesn't mean it is. If they are halogen, they draw higher amperage and cause cheap fuses to do funny things. I have had one test perfect with a ohmmeter but open under load. Get a good quality Littlefuse or similar fuse. No name fuses are shit.

Then search the wiring for a connector that looks like this...

If you find any, treat the truck as you would if you found a spider and burn it to the ground...

Just kidding. :D find out what they are connected to and then fix it. These connector should be illegal. They are the worst thing ever produced for wiring.
