Is anyone else questioning if @texastoy is a second gen owner with a fake account just effing around in the 3rd gen forum?

I don’t think he’s trolling. He just hasn’t drank the Taco koolaid, and y’all are offended. I didn’t expect to, but I really liked the new Silverado as well. I’ve had great experiences with GM vehicles. (Read that sentence again.) I’ve also had great experiences with Toyota vehicles. There are known issues for each. Taco resale is great. But then again if you’re smart and didn’t pay anything close to MSRP for a domestic full size, your resale will be closer to Taco resale as a % of negotiated purchase price.

I’m actually in the market to move out of my Taco and GM is on the list. I think the comparisons OP makes and the lack of logic in his replys is what has everyone questioning his ability to make rational decisions based on equal circumstances.

We even had the obligatory "2nd gen resale >> 3rd genzz alll day" and "2nd gen >> 3rd gen and way better when modzzzz" post. This thread almost has it all.

So much fail in this thread, starts with the OP intending to buy a Chevy, posting in TW. Big or small, that’s what it really boils down to, what’s it going to be?

A dollar is a dollar I don't care what % of the price it is. I moved on from a Silverado and I have not had the best luck with GM vehicles. If I were in the market for a full size it would definitely be an F-150 or a Tundra. To each his own, but trolling is trolling. If he's cross shopping that new Silverado (while calling the Tundra ugly, lol) and a Taco Pro then he has issues we can't fix hahahaha.

We had a Chevy Avalanche a few years ago. Great truck that would haul and pull trailers like nobody’s business. It wasn’t cheap, and I agree with other posters get the OR and upgrade to save some $$$.

But no problems at all with 50K miles.

Our only hang up was the size. It’s just not fun to drive a big truck in the city, plus lousy gas mileage. (Fillups on long trips were sometimes as much as $100... :-0)

We pull a small camper (2800 lbs dry weight) and for that and everything else plus driving fun the Tacoma is the best option, but if I wanted to pull anything bigger I would go with a full-size truck.

And yet, wrong again! Have you even done your research? Fully loaded OR is almost identical to Pro in interior package with the exception of red leather stitching (not leather itself) and a TRD shift know, that's it! FYI; 4 way adjustable driver seat was not available on any of the trims prior to 2020 MY. And yes, you will be able to have all of those options on the OR when 2020 goes on sale.

I dont expect anyone to be drinking the Tacoma cool-aid. But he comes in asking for comparrisons and thoughts on both trucks (completely different uses btw) and kicks in with Tacoma bashing. And has countered every suggestion, when he's here asking for opinions.

I'm happy with my truck, someone wants to bash it thats their deal. But a troll is a troll... get some glasses so you can see it lol

And the real texastoy shows up. Anyone seriously considering a full size truck knows the F-150 is far superior to anything 1500 GM. So now we have Tacoma bashing and Ford bashing. How about a Ranger? Butt hurt Chevy fans lol.

I based a comparison of price after I drove the $53K Silverado and the $47 + $6k ADM for the PRO. So same exact price. It was apples to apples

Well he sounds like one of the slack jaw flat bill trailer park super stars with the cut off exhaust and truck sagging ass typical of the stereotype. Unsubbed lol.

You compared a Pro with a ADM and a discounted Silverado. Tells me you didnt look too hard for a Pro in the price department.

In terms of strengths theyre complete opposites. You either want a mid-size with OR capabilities or a Full size with better capabilities. I got nothing better to do at work might as well overfeed the troll.

Price comparison is price comparison. Same money.

I am not sure why you think it is unfair to compare. Both have 4 wheel drive, both have a motor. One has more power, one sits higher. But both are 4 wheel drive trucks with the same price.

Im saying you can find a Pro with a ADM but you couldve easily found a 42-46k Pro if you tried, especially with the 20s coming in. But hey not my money, that is if you even have the money to spend. Judging by the lack of pricing research sounds like you took it at face value lol

OP should be asking ZR1 Chevy or Tundra Pro, not Tacoma Pro. The two vehicles don’t even compete against one another.
