Update, ended up taking it to the Toyota dealership and thankfully was not charged a diagnostic fee as originally told I would have been.

As mentioned my converter was stolen and I had it replaced with an aftermarket one. Dealership concluded that it looks like it is the front cat that is causing the sound.

Sound wasn't occurring when converter was initially replaced and worked just fine for 8 months until this past March when the noise started occurring. Dealership even checked the aftermarket parts/installation and said the place I had my new one installed did a solid job.

2K for a replacement from the dealership, looks like I will unfortunately just have to deal with the noise.

Anybody got any new info on this one?

Got the same rattling on mine. Just went to go try and research it as it's such a mysterious noise. Found this post coincidentally and sounds exactly like what has happened to me. Cat was stole, insurance covered it, and replaced with new cat that was by no means cheap. It was over two grand that's for sure. It was probably a year after the replacement the noise started. It's still probably been less than 2 years on the new cat at this point.
Checked out all skids, he plates, and any bolt of any kind accessible without a lift. All same intact. The weirdest damn part is, if someone's sitting in the driver seat keeping it between 1,01500 RPMs with me under the truck, I can't locate the source of the noise for the life of me! Becoming quite the little mind game. The noise is getting significantly worse and to the point of embarrassment due to the obnoxious loudness of it.
Professionally installed OEM cats don't tend to go bad after a few years do they? I mean even if installed wrong is there something that could have been damaged to make it go bad? Something internal, because externally looks fine.
