The shop is trying to fix it because they messed it up. They aren’t paying for 3 new ones to paint.

Sounds like a bad painter at that body shop. Orange peel is an issue but a good painter can compensate (air / paint mix)and make it match.Ive had plenty of paint work done over the Years with metallic paint and never had a shade issue. Sometimes blending is needed but he should know.

shouldn't be that hard to match cement. its a flat color... if your truck was pearl white I could see where the issue lays, but cement. nah find a new shop.

Cement is not flat, it's a 2 stage color coat with clear coat. The metallic in cement is real fine. As stated before a good shop can tint the color coat to match if it's needed. Local auto paint stores can tint as well for a slight charge. The painter can then adjust his spray technique to further match the factory finish.

The flares and bumpers are painted separately at the factory, thats why there is a slight variation in the tint.

Both Altaxa and PPG have field reps to assist paint shops if needed. At least they did when I was a painter.

They don’t. They come stock black. The finish is really thin and flat on the sports fender flares.

Are you sure the body shop ordered the correct flare for you truck? The off-road and pro flare has a different texture than the sport. If they ordered the off-road/pro flare the different texture may have cause the final paint job to look different. If you can, check the back side of the flare and the part number will be on it.
