Good looking truck, the 90,000 miles would not bother me, if its highway miles it's nothing. And as new as it is, I would bet a case its highway miles.

Looks good, drive the shit out of it

Just for comparison, my '19 SR5 has just under 60K on it and is still running great. A lot of that is highway mileage including three trips from MA to SC and one to TX and back.

My 2006 Tundra had 231K on it when I traded it in on the Tacoma. Engine and transmission on that were still in great condition.

Nice looking truck, looks like it needs more miles to me… really, it’s a beaut.

Not trying to change anyone’s mind about what they personally like better, just making the case that something that hasn’t been out long enough to know what kind of reliability it has, cannot truly be compared to something that has proven itself to be ultra reliable over several years. I’ll give you that Nissan was decently solid on mechanicals in the ‘90s and some of the ‘00s, but they have not kept that kind of quality up for a while now. Neither has Subaru for that matter. It used to be that if it’s Japanese it’ll last forever, but there is a much wider gap between the quality of the different Japanese automakers these days.

Not arguing, just pointing out that according to all the post on this forum, Toyota aint got much in bragging rights for reliability these days. I think Toyotas days of holding the high ground are waning. Having said that, I still bought a Tacoma as my last truck, but next time might be a Frontier. Theres not a wrong answer unless you buy a Dodge, then you are fucked.

Check into a Sprint Booster for your gas pedal. Takes away that sluggishness built in at the factory.

Personally, I don’t buy that about Toyota supposed loss of quality. I think that sentiment is absolutely generated by this and other forums and social media groups, etc… because we hear about one engine or whatever that that failed and people think, “What the heck is going on with Toyotas these days?”. But we don’t hear about the 1000 engines that have no problems for that one that took a shit. 15 years ago nobody would’ve ever heard about any problems with a Toyota unless it was someone they knew personally. I can say I don’t anyone who has had major issues with any modern Toyota... only on this forum of a million or so people. But I actually know quite a few people who’ve had major issues with modern Nissans, Mazdas, Subarus (including the head gasket and rings that failed on my former ‘13 Outback).

I think it’s a lot like how googling a medical problem always leads to the worst case scenario of someone dying of cancer or whatever, but the vast majority of the problems people are googling about turn out to be nothing. And you won’t ever hear their stories because people don’t go online to tell everyone they’re fine and healthy, you just hear the random 1 in 1000 bad stories. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if my ‘21 Tacoma goes farther/lasts longer than my ‘97 4runner (built during their “golden era”). I do agree about Dodge/Chrysler tho.

Nissan!!! No thanks they did me dirty with a Sentra. I failed to research the cvt trans and it gave out just outside the warranty period and of course they did nothing. I understand it was outside the warranty period but with as many cvt issues they have I was hopping to get some help.

I dont think Toyotas have gone down, but I dont think Nissan or Subaru has gone down hill either. I dont know anyone who has had problems short of a head gasket on a Subaru at 110k and Subaru repaired it on their dime. In the last 20 years have owned 2 Nissans, 2 Toyotas a Suzuki and a Subaru, all kept past 100,000 and no troubles with any.

Are you kidding? I bought a new 2022 SR5 6 cyl 4wd in Jan for a little over $36k. Why would you pay that much? Get out of that deal if you can. There is starting to be some new inventory on lots. Try and find a new one for that much money. You can finance through Toyota Financial. Newer used trucks are more expensive than new ones many times because the dealer had to buy them for too much money just to have vehicles on the lot.

I haven’t had to buy a used vehicle in over 25 years. They’re a crapshoot and you usually end up on the short end

No matter what anyone pays, there is always someone who got a better deal. Enjoy what you have and ignore the background noise on here.

I believe Toyota quality is slipping a lot. I started buying Toyotas in 1979 and have had them ever since. But when the resale is more than you paid for them, after two years, it is foolish not to buy them. And the expensive components, the drivetrains, still continue to last a long time. Few other vehicles hold their values as well.

I once paid $20 for a 16 oz of coconut water and a few slices of mango. I ate it & moved on.
