mmm. This caught me when I'm bored at work, but there are mods watching and it ain't Friday. soo...
Also, I understand some of the quibbles with these trucks and even 4 years later I still occassionally say wtf, but I love the thing to death and it's downsides aren't enough anymore to gripe over. Keep driving it and hopefully it does the same for you

It is functional. It functions as a statement to its sportiness.

if you go through water over the hood on the new gm with 20" rims, and 32" tires... that person would be full retard, as that would be close to 5 feet deep. with that said, there is a drain, for rain, driving rain spray, in the duct. (yes, i have one). Ski

    I'll bite.
Delayed gear changes and improved throttle response
    Sorry
Read manual. Quick 30 second change. You can also buy another handle
For economy and they are plenty capable
I would address more, but I'm not allowed to drink at work.

If you don't like the hood scoop, they are a sought after item even though they are just for looks. Pretty easy to find someone with a pristine non-scoop hood to trade with. Check the buy and sell section.

I'm sure you've scouted the forum's threads long before your post. There's I don't know, 6000+ pages about how we have more than one option for going up a tire size... One of those options in fact, adds an inch or two..

I have seen on here somewhere, that there is actually a way to make the hood scoop functional. It is of course, not an official Toyota thing, but I know I have seen somewhere where it can be done. Oh yeah, and the front grill is not a cheese grater, but it is chicken wire. ;-) And it is well documented about how SO MANY tacoma owners have changed out their grill for the TRD Pro version. Look at my profile pic of my own 2019 TRD SPort, and you will see my swapped out TRD Pro grill. Best thing I did on my truck, although I have great things coming!

I'll gladly take that crappy hood off your hands. Mine has no scoop. Let's trade hoods, I only need you to throw in $50 on top of that crappy hood. Let me know thanks.

    Working on it ...
Hmm ... so driving a manual transmission vehicle is what makes one cool? Then dang man, I must be one of the coolest folk around as all I have been driving for almost 35 years is a manual transmission!

Not reading the manual? Yeah that one is on me. 100%. I have previously mentioned that this was the nicest truck that I have ever owned. Did I also mention it is the thickest owners manual I have ever owned. :) . I am pretty much a visual learner. If I see someone doing something or if I do something for myself then sinks in almost immediately. If I have to read about how something is done sometimes I need to read it two or three times before it actually sticks. I will be going skiing the last week of January, and you all could be assured I will be bring my owners manual up with me and when I am not skiing or sitting around the bar with my buddies I will be reading the owners manual with zeal :D

As for having an automatic transmission for the first time, I did want the double cab and a long bed and something in the TRD family. The manual transmission really was not very readily available. But the ultimate reason for waiting an A/T - while I am currently in remission and hope to stay that way for for foreseeable future, one never knows what the good Lord has in mind. So I went with the A/T so if it came down to it, anyone of my kids could take the truck.

Never thought I would have to explain my transmission choices

In the real world this isn’t necessary.

99% of the members here could also care less.

Those MT owners are just happy to have a place where they can “be proud and be loud”...lol

    Stay strong!

I have a 2019 as well, and it is hands down the nicest truck I have ever owned. I guess they did away with the driver’s side rear bed cubby for 2019? Has anybody been able to put one in or one like it?
