Yes, it originally had drums in the rear and braking was less than desirable. I used disc brakes front and rear from an 04 Cobra and now it stops on a dime and has a much stronger handbrake.

Ya I can totally see myself cruising slow through a crowd of haters while my truck is breathing that sweet sweet air above that thick cloud of “y’all know it’s just for dust”

One day. When a less terrible looking option becomes available.

Just going to leave your comments here...
You would use it every day and every 4x4 trail.

You're suggesting that the PNW has less dust in 4x4 trails. What?

My 2001 MT Taco had 108K before I replaced brakes. My 2012 MT still had original brakes at 93K when I got rid of it. You’ll get no complaints from me about brakes on a Taco. I only hope I can get close to that with my 2016 AT. I don’t care if they’re drums or discs... its worked for me.

I just saw the snorkel in person (have some connections). It’s nice, and fairly burly. The TRD logo in the intake grill is a nice touch.

Yes. Definitely expensive. And will be somewhere between accessory and package. Not a dealer install, at least.
Apparently that was the original thought for it, but the designers got a lot of crap about it so they made it functional. Just shows if you complain to the right people (not me) that you can get results.

Turbo diesel/gas option is more likely for the Tundra (yes I read the “just kidding” - just sharing some fun tidbits).
The new Lexus LS500 has the twin turbo 2GR, which will likely go to the Tundra. Tacoma may likely go hybrid first.

Buuuut... best way to find out is wait and see.

I don't think toyota is going to sell every trd pro with the snorkel, maybe call it a trd pro offroad :bananadead:

The coolest part I think is this means any 3rd geners who don’t want to drill into their fender can probably buy the fender for the snorkel and make it work with some of the other options out there.

I can’t afford an OEM snorkel and a color matched fender. This is bordering drug addiction money.

Take your logic back to the 2nd gen forum. We here, in teh 3rd gen forum, like to bitch about the transmission, leaky diffs, and lack of rear disc brakes.
