Just a thought, but if you’re waiting for a 2019 anyways and considering the ZR why not just wait to see the Ford Ranger offering? It looks like it’ll have a lot of options available and could also save you some coin. Of course if you are in love with the Tacoma then just go with that and try to arrange a fender swap with someone locally, preferable someone who would do the work for a case of beer in the deal lol.

First I'm really love the Tacoma and now more and more say the desert air intake is an option it's just hard to get Canadian info. I will wait the two weeks till full details. Yes the new ranger raptor sounds very sweet but it's another two years I would think.
Zr2 does not have the extra safety stuff that I thought would be a nice to have in the city.

The wait is just so hard when you have been watching and wanting a truck for 3years

Oh well will update everyone once I get real confirmed info

You know a quarter panel for a Tacoma isn't that expensive, about $500 painted and that's through a shop doing the work. Why not just take delivery of a TRD Pro then swap the panel and snorkel off for a stock panel? You could probably even sell the panel and snorkel for a good chunk of change to a non TRD Pro owner who want a snorkel.

Depends on the shop doing the painting. Toyota paint isn’t that special. It’s non VOC while some shops still use better technology that’s not as environmentally friendly. I wouldn’t be surprised if a well done paint shop job will hold up better than an original panel. Plus in the 2nd gen you can order Toyota OEM panels and I bet for the 3rd gen you can too.

its not an easy thing to do, taking a drill and saw to your new truck with less than 40k km on it but oh well lol.

Yeah, I totally get that lol. I simply meant that people who have the extra money and time will often cut a second fender to install their snorkel rather than cut the original. There’s even a second gen write up where someone goes through how to do it including the fender swap step by step.

Mine got a little messed up .
Jigsaw caught and hopped so there's maybe a dime size spot where you can see the fender not line up perfect with the snorkel . But unless you know what to look for its hard to see. Could probably fix it by giving it a tap from behind with a hammer or something but knowing my luck I'll fuck it up more lol

Was the dealer able to do this for you? Is so, do you recall how much it ran you? Thanks.

I'd imagine at least they'd charge hourly rate for how long it took .And I'd imagine it's very similar to my ARB or any other snorkel and be about a 2 hour minimum job .

Even longer if you try and remove the fender liner in a way where you can reuse the clips.

When I did mine I just cut them off with side cutters and paid the $15 off Amazon to get a pack of new ones .

So if dealer does it the same figure $1 minimum per clip OEM price. Think there's about 10 clips

I'd say no less than $300 from a dealer

Thinking if the fender wall was already cut from the initial install, the fender panel would need to be replaced, right? Wonder how much more this would add to the cost.

    Fender
    Paint
    Install

Dunno for prices but wouldn't doubt at least $200 for fender another $150 for paint and maybe $150 for install. So $500 I'd think at least .

Dunno where you are and prices but I know here, body shops get pricey quick
