IMG_4286.jpg IMG_4290.jpg IMG_4294.jpg Total beginner here. I’m going to start my first oil change and tire rotation. I think I can figure out location 2 on the rear next to the “pumpkin?” per the manual but where exactly for location 1? There’s like a little triangle welded there. Is that where I place it?

Huh? There’s plenty of ground clearance and no need for jack stands to do an oil change.

I’m really fat so I can’t fit under there comfortably.

Good quality ramps are much easier and safer.

I want to rotate my tires after the oil change so I need to put all four on Jack stands.

I wouldn’t place them next to the pumpkin I would put them out as far as possible near. The spring hangers may be a half inch and board of those. The reason being is a wider stance is a more stable stance.

As far as the fronts, I placed them in the flat area between that little welded prism you were talking about, and the crossmember behind it.

IMG_4309.jpg I know the front lift location for the floor Jack (the pop out with the hole in it? Per other threads) but what about the rear? Can I lift the entire rear with the floor Jack at the bott of the differential? The green spot? Also what’s that red spot? Looks rubber or something? Will the floor Jack hit the rubber looking disc?

Welcome to the forum :hattip: & congratulations on wanting to learn - and also being smart enough to not want to hurt yourself in the process. ;)

Structurally speaking, lifting from the center of the differential (your green spot) is not best practice. It stresses the tube attachments at the differential in a way it isn't designed for.
    Probably a :crapstorm: to follow...
I know a lot of people do it. They say: "I always..." or "nothing has ever...".
And, nothing WILL ever happen... until it does.

Better to lift one side, place a jack stand under it, then repeat on the other side.
It is also safer that way, the differential can more easily slide off the jack saddle than the axle tube.

The red spot is the differential drain plug.

    Ok to be clear:
1.) I’m going to lift the entire front at point 1.
2.) Place a Jack stand on point 2 (and same opposite location for right side of truck)
3.) Lift one side of the rear at the axel tube with a floor Jack on point 3.
4.) Place Jack stand on axel tube at point 4.
5.) repeat steps 3 and 4 for right side of truck.
    Correct?

    Yes.

Although, I just lift under the pumpkin in the back at the green spot in post #10. never had a problem.

The red spot in post #10 is the drain plug for the rear dif.

Also, make sure to loosen your lug nuts slightly before jacking up otherwise it can be a pain.

You’re spot on with locations 1&2. I lift my truck with the rear differential and then put the stands at #4 on each side.

once you are jacked up and on stands, give the truck a decent wiggle to ensure it’s solid. Then begin the work.

Where is this diagram found? I don’t remember seeing this in my owners manual.

OP, sorry for my previous comments. There is a tradition on this forum to bait people with joke posts on Fridays. Your post makes much more sense after editing it to say you are doing a tire rotation in addition to an engine oil change.

On another note, your rear diff is leaking. Take it to the dealer if you're still within powertrain warranty coverage.
