I have the Toyota installed Tonneau cover and it is leaking every time it rains. My dealer tells me that Toyota says that the cover is water repellent and not water proof! Sounds like BS to me, why would anyone pay for a bed cover that lets water in?

Anyone else have this issue and is there a fix?

    Appreciate any help !!

See where it leaks and use automotive weather strips to stop the leaks. 99% of the guys that own the factory cover have a leaks. I did as well and fixed it with some weather stripping.

Leaking bed covers are 100% normal as long as it’s not flooding water into the bed

I got a $1300 rollnlock and it’s got a few leaks. Driving in a full on Central Florida thunderstorm/rain and I got a few drips near the tailgate corners and a little on the cab side, pretty normal. If any bedcover company says full waterproof I’d run away as I doubt any are 100% dry

They all leak toa degree, except those fiberglass one piece covers. My Extang leaks a bit but no big deal. You get covers to hide your stuff. Trash bags if you want waterproof.

I have a very large dry bag if I know it is going to pour the rain and I have something that definitely does not need to get even a little bit wet. It takes up the whole bed.

I did a lot of research on covers before pulling the trigger on my Diamondback SE. So far no leaks in 8 months and the thing is essentially bomb proof. Does have minor drawbacks as far as use of the bed though.

Friend of mine is sales mgr for a toyota dealership here in portland. he straight up told me, "dont get the OEM cover, it leaks much worse than other after market solutions that are much cheaper".

You can look at one at a glance and know it's not water proof. It is water resistance. Mine will leak a little in a down pore. Add a water-tight tool box if you store items you want to keep 100% dry.
