Keeping it simple and OEM, Tailgate Letters, Bed Lights, Power Tailgate Lock, Exhaust Tip, Peragon Bed Cover, Ham Radio Install.
That won't work with the OEM one unless you cut all the wires out of the existing loom first.

My OCD was a bit triggered with the 2 independent looms, one for camera and one for tailgate lock. I have that setup on 2 trucks now. Then my '05 which has neither. One common loom would be ideal. Could just cut out the OEM loom and bundle all wires together then re-loom as a single. But that's a fair bit of work as outlined by Caribe. Maybe one day when I have time to burn.

    NO cutting wires anywhere...o_O:facepalm:

You'd only insert 2 wires into the camera loom...So much work, it's a wonder any 3rd Gen owner even works on their Taco...:crapstorm:

I seriously thought about it at the time, give me credit for that :)

A 6 way connector would be ideal, but might not fit through the hole.

Independent loom isn't the end of the world though. And that grommet, it's not like it's waterproof or it matters, it's mostly to keep trash from going through? I don't have one for my 2002 tundra aka the trash hauler, I use the spare tire drop hole for routing for now.

Keep the 4 and add a 2 way. Both fit (one at a time). Mate behind rear bumper.

Read it again I didn't say anything about cutting wires, I said the OEM one wires already comes in a loom and there isn't any way your going to get the loom inside another loom as they are the same size so you would have to cut one loom off.

Read my post, slowly again. I never mentioned any loom inside a loom.

@Drippy4x4 did you use the button head ties where the heat shield is or did you use the metal zips for that area? I see the button zip ties are good for up to 185 F.

Tried searching to see if anyone else had a similar problem I’m having after I installed my OEM lock.(PK3B635JS0)

Everything installed smoothly and operates fine. Except for when my headlights are on, this is causing a hyper flash on the right turn signal. Any ideas? Is the harness not compatible with a 23 w/ factory led headlights?

EDIT: issue resolved, somehow my right tail light was partially disconnected. Back to full function

Disconnect the harness at the passenger side. Return to original. Test to duplicate the hyper-flash.

thank you, returned the harness back to original and sure enough, Murphy had a vote. Somehow my rear light harness was unclipped at the right tail light, either it wasn’t fully seated from the factory (260 miles on truck) or when I pulled the lights the other day I knocked it loose enough to separate. All good now!

Just did the install on a 2020 OR DCSB. Went very well and very happy with the result. The worst part was the two wire protectors in the tailgate and edge of the bed. Hard to get your fingers in there. Found it useful to close the tailgate to get better access to the protectors. Also had trouble cutting the metal wire ties. My tin snipes just bent them over. Will need to try another cutter of some sort. Also found the instructions a bit odd when it wanted the tailgate wire harness zip tied to the bed. That would mean you would need to cut the tie to remove the tailgate.

Almost identical experience for me. Those two replacement pieces for the tailgate and the bed were a big PIA. Never did get them right and that bugs me. You'd need to disconnect the lock and the camera wiring to remove the tailgate anyway. What's an extra zip tie among friends? ;)

Just noticed an odd thing. I installed the tailgate lock recently and it has worked as designed with no problems. This weekend I was hauling in my bed so needed to wash it out. I sprayed down the bed as well as the tailgate. Left it open to dry out. Just went to close the tailgate and heard water sloshing inside the tailgate. When I closed the tailgate water came out the bottom. I took the tailgate cover back off and it was quite wet inside. I can see how water could get in there as the the tailgate cover does not really have a good seal. Never noticed this happening before but have never hosed off the tailgate as much as today. Has anyone had this happen to them? Guess I could put some silicone along the edge when I put the cover back on.

All three of my tailgates hold water when I hose them out. I tend to prefer a small electric blower for that reason.

As to the zip tie, exactly my complaint. I believe it was designed to have the female connector on the tailgate side and the male on the tree next to the camera connector. I cut and re-did mine so I can remove the tailgate if I so desire. Though I also have a nice Christian06 anti theft bracket so it’s not super easy to remove my tailgate.

Just did my 2022 OR DCSB yesterday. The only wire protector that was a PITA was the one going into the bed, 20 min of WTF comments. For the metal ties, I wrapped them around with no cutting. The rest was a breeze and works perfectly. Even had a chance to clean part of the interior while I had everything apart.

GSS used to put the kit on most vehicles. SR5, wouldn’t be the issue. 2023 would be my question, but I know they haven’t made that drastic of changes to major wiring, so you should be just fine. Plenty of info in the thread, so plan it out and take your time.

The only downside to non TRD is no inverter harness to zip tie too for the body harness along the frame rail. Some button zip ties seem to be a decent choice to secure to the frame at various points.
