I thought this kit was technically for 2020… is that wrong and it’s 19+?

Edit: I wasn’t even paying attention to the thread title which says 19 (+) :rasta:

Yes that's the plan; I have a '17 and I bought the oem setup so it's just a matter of time for me unless someone is quicker on the draw than me :)

The part number fits a 19+ -- we are trying to ID if it fits 16-18

going to install the kit on my 2020 this weekend. but here are pics of the connectors in case it helps determine if it will work for earlier models.

    the entire kit:

tailgate cable (connects the actuator to the long cable run)

this is what I think you guys want to see. "Y" connector that connects to the kick panel door controls

@beetledude We'd (I) like to have a visual on the connector on the vehicle.

@caribe makaira on this connector I’m missing pins 2,3,8,10. Since his has all I’m assuming they would go to something on the truck side, right? Or why pin them at all.

No "mistakes" during assembly and variances between power window w Jam Protection and without. The power to the window changes. Don't leave a slot open is better than custom ones.
Your Tacoma has Power window WITH Jam Protection. Power to the module is pin 9 (always hot 20 amp)

I have to say that there's no change (except for color choice in wires) The wire positions and connectors correlate to the systems on '16 ~'20.

that makes since, make 1 and not multiple versions based on specific options

Some of the colors are swapped around too. His pin 4 is grey and mine is green moving his green to 3.

The gray seems to be to ID the wire going to the inline fuse, instead of straight to the solenoid, like the POPnLOCK is installed. The unlock wire on the vehicle is lime green. slot #4.
The lock is RED, slot #5.

@beetledude has verified the continuity between the fuses on the harness, one is inline with the UNLOCK and the other to LOCK wires. (My Theory is:) In case of a rear collision, in the event the tailgate solenoid wire goes to ground the fuses would disconnect the rest of the unlock circuit. The system would not fail due to tailgate solenoid. (isolation)

I’ve read this multiple times trying to understand. So his slot4 on the truck is green but his slot4 on the harness is grey (which goes to the inline fuse)

what does that mean about the green slot3 on his harness (and my green on slot4 or nothing on slot3)? Or does that not matter

4 is UNLOCk, 5 is LOCK for this tailgate lock install is the concern. All other wires in the Y harness connectors are straight through, no branching out.

installed the kit yesterday -- it was pretty straightforward. I do have the factory installed bed lighting so I'm not sure why they say it's incompatible. the actuator is pretty quiet. I like it!
