My 2019 Tacoma truck is a month old new from the lot and since day one, if the windows are wet or damp with dew, they have hundreds of what looks like little oily spots on all the windows. When dry, they disappear and the windshield looks as clear as, well glass. It is not the wipers since it is on all my exterior windows. If I run the wiper fluid and run the wipers, the moisture and oily spots don't disappear fast enough to see clearly. This morning, it was so bad driving into the sun that I had to pull over from the hundreds of wet rainbow circles. I was literally blinded by the hazy windshield.

I can't get into the dealership for a few days. They said it might have been paint sealer that they sprayed over all the windows and they weren't supposed to do that.

Between now and when I can take it in and probably lose my in service for who knows how long, has anyone experienced this and knows what I can do to remove the sealant without destroying my windows?

90% ISO Alcohol? Already scrubbed vigorously with Dawn detergent because it cuts oil but haven't tried anything more powerful. Thanks in advance, Dan

Try a good glass cleaner on the inside and out.

try an aggressive claybar, use something like stoner invisible glass as a clay lubricant on the glass only. not on paint.
Dawn isn't as good for detailing as people make it out to be, most synthetic paint sealants are resistant to dawn.

If clay doesn't take it off, klasse all in one or stoner tarminator might be worth a shot.

Seriously, we used fine steel wool 0000 to remove overspray from auto glass when I was a painter. Then used an air blower to clean off the powder left behind.

Just imagine hundreds of little circle rainbows about the size of a pea on the windshield.

I'll see if I can find some locally. Thanks.

Easy enough to get and try. Thanks

I have a power washer dedicated to washing my autos. Won't pay 10 bucks for something I can do for a few bucks in quality car soap. This didn't come off with scrubbing with detergent...a car was won't come close to good old manpower.

Not all detergents are created equal. Assuming you use a good one, I’m not sure what else will help other than harsh chemicals.

Relentless Fab hybrid bumper, 2.5” Dobinsons IMS lift, RCI skids and sliders, block heater. Painted FJ Steelies. Was trying to keep it stock, now slowly building for the Wisconsin trails.
Am I the only one who suspects that the dealer/ detailer used a Rain X type product and that is what the OP is seeing?
If that is the case I would use a dilution of vinegar to clean the glass.

This stuff works on most any job I've thrown it's way so will most likely clean your windows.

I've been trying to find a post to jump in on. I've got the same on my 19. When raining I see definite "streaks" on the windshield that nothing seems to take away. Granted, I've only handwashed the truck a few times. Did you ever find a solution? I've heard the cleaner BonAmi is good to really clean windshields but I haven't tried it yet. You are right though, driving in the rain is not fun as the wipers don't ever get it clean.
