that's the thing. the question is who is happy to drive like that all the time. many are, many are not. i actually got the truck to slow my roll after too many performance cars. turns out the Tacoma is so fun to drive that i cannot keep my foot out of it. so i pay for my fun daily buying fuel. no problem with that since having fun is a priority for survival in life.

If I was stranded on a desert island and could only bring one thing...

I’m currently doing a experiment with my manual OR.
Picked up a lower bumper valance from a sport. I’m only one tank in but @70 MPH I’ve picked up about 2.5 miles per gallon.
Up to 20.9 mpg from 17.5-18.5. Lots of hills here.
    10k miles on the truck.

    I average 16, the only reason I feel shafted is a V8 in a 4Runner will get 15.5.

With most taking them off I was unsure if I would like it. Subjective, but actually think it looks better.

Check tire pressure low pressure kills my mpg’s. Also winter gas and very cold temps greatly decline my mpg’s as well

Our MTs do decent too, mine usually is around 20 or better per tank full and see similar to above every time I drive.

That freaking blows my mind. The best I have ever seen on mine is 18 MPG but that was downhill down wind. I have 265-70-17 which are slightly larger than standard 265-65-17. Are you guys running a higher octane than 87?

Are these 2wd trucks or 4wd? Because that can make a huge difference.
I'm 4wd and do most of my driving to and from work (about 6 miles). Sitting in traffic both ways so the truck can't even really get to operating temp. I average about 17 which I'm fine with because I know it is the short trips, operating temps, and the hilly terrain around my area.
We should include which drivetrain when posting mpg's.

And model. The OR doesn’t have the front valance.
Still apples to oranges. Location, elevation, fuel grade, winter gas and traffic all play into mileage.
Best mileage my truck has done is 22.5
@80 mph between Moab and Grand Junction. Never seen that here in the south east. Before installing the front valance couldn’t get 20, driving like my 75 year old dad.
