2019 OR 4x4 here, 570 miles on it, bone stock, ECT off, D, getting about 21-23 on the highway.

You have to baby it to get the rated MPG.

I used to drive like a raped ape. Since retirement Ive slowed down significantly. As a result I’ve noticed my MPG has also improved commensurately. Most people who complain about mileage never realize they are probably 90% of the equation/problem. That’s what I think, feel free to disagree...

you are totally right on that, of course. and these trucks are unusually sensitive to driver dynamics regarding mileage. moreso than any other vehicle I've spent time in.

Out on the highway going 70+ is where my truck really feels responsive.

I find my truck gets the best fuel economy when it sits in the driveway and I use my motorcycle to commute :bikewheelie2:

Driveshaft disconnect to be flat towed behind our RV.
I just rented a 2019 Chevrolet Suburban 4x4 for a 2 week family vacation. Loaded with 1000lbs of gear, the 6 of us cruised in comfort and averaged 21.7 MPG over our 3000 mile trip. (Hitch carrier too!) Mostly interstate driving at 75 MPH.

I love my 2019 TRD off road Tacoma, but the Burb really emphasized to me how pathetic the mileage really is.

All jokes aside, I don’t believe this mpg is averaging 80 mph. What’s the average between the commute to work and the commute back, that would negate any hills that are boosting this data.

Take it as you will. I commute 80mph on the way to work everyday for the past 2 years since I got a new job that forced me to commute. I hit only 2 small traffic snags that last a couple minutes then its a straight shot. No need to make assumptions that I am a troll however. Read the full thread then interpret as you will, but be civil when the evidence is provided.

18.2 on my 2019 OR MT SB DC after 900 miles. Getting better but low IMO. Not a speed demon either.

Drive 65mph on flat freeways then come back and say that again.
