I have been following the threads and reading online about many owners who have experienced vibration in their truck. It seems to happen when slowing/braking around the 30mph-15mph range. It feels like driving over a rumble strip, and felt in the seat and steering wheel. It takes just the right deceleration and braking rate to cause the issue. But, the right rate happens to be stop-and-go traffic, like when commuting home from work.

I have owned my 2019 TRD OR for 3 months and have felt this issue since day 1. I brought the truck back into the dealership at 500 miles, did a ride with a a technician who felt the issue and recommended reseting the transmission learn shift points. We did that, but the problem remained so I brought it in again at 1700 miles. Did another ride where the tech felt the issue again. I asked them to research TSB-0023-19 and see if it applies to my truck.

They did, and they measured my axle flanges to be out of spec and found that the TSB applied. The dealer has ordered the parts and will follow the replacement. I hope this fixes the issue, and I can report back in a few weeks. The parts are on back order at the moment.

For anyone experiencing this issue. There is this TSB:
    https://toyotatalk.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Tacoma-T-SB-0023-18.pdf

Even though my model year is 2019, the VIN was checked by the dealer and confirmed that my model contains parts before the production change. According to them, there were a batch of early 2019 vehicles still using these parts.

Im posting this in hopes it helps anyone else with the issue, as its so subtle and annoying that most dealers might not be able to pin point the problem. But, if they measure your flange and find it to be out of spec, you should meet this TSB, and the warranty work should be honored.

lol good luck.... ill tell you right now thats not gonna fix the issue, issue is axle wrap on deceleration causing wacky u joint angles which you feel as a rumble. Its the shitty stock noodle leaf springs.

Even if that doesn’t fix it, you still have to go through all the motions and check all the boxes.

Just don’t let the dealer try to convince you that “that’s normal”, especially after it’s already tried to fix it.

I have a slight shudder on my month-old 2019 TRD OR as well. For now I’m just pretending it’s not there...

I too have a 12/18 Tijuana truck with the rumble strip vibes. Living with it now, will probably make note of it at the 5k service. The other truck I test driove did the same exact thing FWIW.

Tsb 23 fixed the rumble strip vibrations for my 2019 TRD Sport 4x4 in January ...I took in it with about 500 miles and reported the vibrations coming from rear ...technician diagnosed axle flange out of spec and they ordered parts ....problem hasn’t returned and I now have 5000 miles on truck

Awesome! I am hoping this is the case for me as well. Either way, they measured and verified the flange is in fact out of spec, so it needs to be addressed.

Did it help the 50-55mph howling that a lot of us have as well?

Jesus, these TSBs are waaaaaaaaaaayyy late in the game. That's an issue people were having since jump street. I see the TSB came out in April 2018 but that's still 2+ years late imo.

It sounds like trucks are still effected by it too.

I'm okay with it. Nothing is perfect. This was barely an issue driving. The tech during my last oil change even made a comment about it in the report which lead me to this.
