So I wanted to get an official weight on what my 2019 TRD Off Road Double 4x4 cab weighs. Today with a full tank of gas with nothing but my bed rug in it, the weight was 4560. Which means that I have about 1050 pounds of payload left before me or any gear. Some people say that the payload is only like 1000 pound on the off-road 4x4 but based on the weight today it’s close to the advertised 1175 before a full tank of gas.

Payload is also printed on the door jam sticker for your tire pressures.

Also. The door sticker and owners manual will show less payload because they are not including about 150-175lbs reserved for a single occupant (driver)

It's very easy to overload these trucks. Think about how much steel front and rear bumpers plus steel skids weigh. That rated payload easily becomes nothing.

The "payload" ratings are full of shit because they don't take into account a driver or the accessories on the vehicle. The only adjustments are the yellow stickers that come when you buy a truck with rubber mats or running boards.

If you want to truly know the capability, go drive your truck onto a good scale and subtract that from the GVWR on the door.

That said if you need payload, buy a Ranger if you need a little more or an F-150 if you need a lot more. A Tacoma may take the weight but you're still going to have issues if you're over weight in an accident and it's going to prematurely wear your vehicle.
