Question about my 2019 TRD Sport ride is bumpy at one point I thought it was a transmission hesitation but realized it was just the truck. I was wondering on my options to smooth the ride when I am on normal roads. I appreciate any tips.

You could look for stock TRD OR shock/strut take offs. They sell here all the time for cheap and are much softer.

Hmmm, what do you mean exactly? Like driving down a normal paved road has you bumping around a lot? I've not noticed that at all on my 19 sport. Is yours a manual, or auto?

So if you put it in neutral, the issue continues or goes away?

If it goes away, it is said that there is some weird logic in the torque converter partial lockup that can make it feel like you are driving on rumble strips.

If it doesn't go away, are you talking about hitting bumps and such, esp uneven ones? I liked my Sport on smooth roads, but any uneven bump rocked it side to side uncomfortably. Pulling off the sway bar corrected this. IMHO with the sway bar gone, it feels pretty much like an OR. It also rides great like this when off road.

    Try
    1. Lowering the tire air pressure.
    2. Slow down over bumps.
    3. For a really softer ride consider a SUV based vehicle e.g., Ridgeline

Going this route, the OP will also want the smaller diameter OR sway bar and mounts.

It is a truck, it'll never ride like a new accord or a civic

Hm, I've always felt the Taco rode SMOOTHER than family sedans, specifically over bumps. More suspension travel, bigger tires, longer wheelbase.
Handling wise, sure, it's a truck, but not over rough roads, which I'm assuming is what the OP is talking about.

Sport do have a stiffer suspension and I think are tuned for having some load in the bed. It will loosen up a bit after time but will always be much stiffer than and OR. The only sure fix is replacing the shocks.

These newer sedans and such (what most people drive) are freeway machines. I barely feel bumps in our chevy volt compared to the taco or the tundra that we have on the highway

Not that I'd ever trade though lol

It’s bumpy because it’s a sport. Its stiff. It’s meant to hug the apex and score big at time attack. It’s a track car for track bros. Because that’s what people asked for in a truck.

Hector put a spoon engine in his. Were fucked.

As suggested above, check your tire pressure. Lower that a bit to see if it helps.

The sway bar delete will not help with this one.

    Good diagnostics.

So, it sounds like you are just down to the feel of the suspension. As others have said, drop a load in the back and see how it feels. Just 120lb of tube sand in the winter gives me a noticeable change in ride and cornering.

That said, assuming both you and I have no problems with the stock suspension, I think the ride and handling are great. If we had smooth roads here, I would consider putting the sway bar back on. But, it combined with the Sport springs is just too much on our crap roads.

I hated the sport suspension because it felt way too soft. I would be bouncing all over the place when it came to speed bumps or large dips in the road. OR coils would be your cheapest solution, I believe the shocks are the same.

The shocks are different. ORs have Bilsteins and Sports have Hitachis as do the SR / SR5. I don't know if the SR / SR5 have the same part number or not.
