I am curious why whites have better deals

    in 2017 i really wanted cement , couldn’t find, settled for a 2018 silver

this time around wanted cement again. Lots of dealers had white- offered excellent deals, but not as good deals in cement

I didn’t want to compromise, and held my ground, finally found cement as I wanted. Though search was far and wide. The whites that were offered are still on dealer lots unsold. Not sure why

White is by far the most common....gobally over 30% of all vehicles made are white. I think at least a third of Tacomas are white. I went looking for a Red or Blue one but ended up with white because it was available and cheaper with the dealer discounting what they had and wanted to sell vs dealer trades or ordering.

My 02 in white had no issues, and so far my 13 is good.

2019 and no problems. I’ve only had it for 6 months and it was full of vinyls when I got it. Not sure if Toyota has changed anything for the 20-21 when it come to 040 Super White. There’s plenty of threads on this and there’s a recall or warranty for other models that they will repair the super white but Tacoma wasn’t on the list. Assume that eventually the Tacoma will make it but until then it’s just a waiting game.

I think desirability has a factor too (in addition to the explanation already given). Black vehicles also retain their value a little better.

I think part of it is because the cement is the color that seems to be “in” right now so they’re selling super fast. I wish I’d waited but too late now!

Never owned a production line, mass-produced vehicle that DIDN'T have paint issues. Especially factory metallic paints that you often pay a premium for. I've noted a few flaws in the paint on my '20 MGM, doesn't surprise me.

Ah ok. Maybe you are right.

Funny thing is, I wonder what all the Audi Nardo Gray big bosses, think of us lowly Tacoma owners and lowly Accord owners in their Cement color? :D

No issues on mine. Bought July 2020, 2000 miles so far. Garage at night but sees the nasty salt slush on the road.

Funny you say all that. I actually work for a major auto manufacturer. In the plant. And conveniently enough, I work within the paint shop. When the cars come through the plant, in the paint shop, they are shells. Literally just the body. We do not know if the car is bare bones or has every thing but the kitchen sink. The cars get painted the EXACT same and get the EXACT treatment regardless of trim levels. The paint process DOES NOT change.
