Is it me, or does the first pic look like the lug nuts are pink? I'd like to see the AG in person. Bet it looks great. Still loving my cement, but congrats. That is a great truck.

It’s a inspection mark showing it was checked , look under the truck and you see pink, white and yellow markings . every inspector has a different color

That is correct. I told the dealer I wanted very limited prep when my truck came in because a prior dealer swirled the clear coat when washing my Maxima right before delivery. It still had plastic on it when I got there.

I also have to say that Inver Grove Toyota was great to work with. They were up front about everything and the truck came in exactly as specified and a week before they said it would.

Congratulations. I see the Inver Grove dealer tags. Yesterday, Carlson in Coon Rapids said my 2020 TRD Off-Road was in transport and the let me test drive the silver one already received. The 2020s are really nice.

Great to hear that you didn’t pay over sticker.

Leaving it 100% stock or are you planning any mods?

I wonder when the “you could have gotten an off road and modded it for a more capable truck for less money” posts are going to come in.....

    Awesome truck

Yes it is the same transmission and gearing from 2016 on, but they've updated the programming multiple times already (there are TSBs).

Also they interviewed one of the Toyota Tacoma engineers and they specifically pointed out that they've tweaked the programming yet again with the new 2020 MY.

Honestly that isn't even true anymore. A fully loaded OR is only a couple thousand dollars less than a Pro. When you consider the upgraded suspension, exhaust, etc. they are pretty comparable. Especially since you still have the factory warranty on those parts if you get a Pro.

I'll believe it when I see it. None of the TSB's actually make a noticeable difference. If you can show me data, I'll eat my words. But based on what you hear around the forums, it's hit or miss on meaningful impact.

The problem is, Toyota doesn't see it as an issue. There's nothing wrong with the transmission, they've just programmed it to shift too early in favor of increased fuel economy. That's only an issue if you're on the other side of the fence (preferring higher RPM shift changes in favor of slightly worse gas mileage). Gearing is another opinionated topic, and one that's been beat to death already, but they are way too tall for this truck.

I don't know where Toyota did their real world test driving, but it sure as hell wasn't anywhere with elevation. Even in S mode S5 on the highway, cruise control is a mess on any elevation increase. It just can't hold 5th at 75 up a hill without downshifting. 6th gear is pointless.
