@JohnsTacoma12 My co worker has a 2018 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel. He recently lifted it Icon shocks and wheels with Falken wildpeaks. It's a great truck! Mpgs are combined 23-25 average. Towing? Forget about it. Powerful truck. Everytime we go grab lunch and he drives, I question myself and why I still go with Toyota.I have 2 kids now - 2 and a half year old and a 6 month old. I'm Tacoma all the way for now, but who knows what the future holds. The more I wonder why I want a 2020 and with the current price gouging going on, the more I question if I'm gonna be a Toyota owner long term.

The prices have a lot of people looking closely at everything.

I’m just hopeful the 2020 early adopters report good things about the automatic transmission and powertrain.

Try putting a different Zip Code in, it's only showing what's currently available in your area.

Dodge/Ford/Chevy trucks are great when they are still under the factory warranty. Resale value? Tacoma’s are the gold standard. There is a reason that you can buy a brand new full size domestic truck for 20% below MSRP!

I am curious about the LED headlight upgrade as well. I am sure a fellow TW member will start a thread with the part number, price and installation guide. Will they be a simple plug & play or an opportunity for the aftermarket with a wiring harness?

@TRDProOne I agree, but the 6.7 Cummins doesn’t seem to be having a lot of problems even after warranty. I’m really up in the air right now, might try to get a deal on a 19’ off-road or wait for the 20’s to come down in price.

My second choice was a brand new leftover 2018 Ram Cummins 6.7l. MSRP was $67k, dealer was asking $51k. I actually went down to the dealership to look at it. I passed because I don’t tow anything and didn’t want the hassles of parking a full size truck again.

I've seen it here. Type in 97131. It's still available with the V6 and you get a cool SX badge on the corner of your bed body panels.

The configuration is forcing that package on you because that is the only combo available at this time for the truck you want. The configuration only shows what is in stock or will be in-stock eventually for your area. Type in different zip codes, look up some large Toyota dealerships that get lots of stock and type in their zip codes. You should see different trim and option combos show up on the configuration.

@CrispyTacoLover I test drove a 2020 twice this week. Shifting in the automatic felt slighlty better than the previous 2019 I had test driven. The seating position was GREATLY improved. No more need for those stupid spacers people were putting in their 3rd gens. The power seats were a tremendous upgrade.

This is probably the best 3rd gen iteration that Toyota can offer before moving on to 4th gen in 2022 or 2023.

@Rexus Ranger I agree. There was already a leaked document regarding Toyota and what they called project F1. Basically, Toyota is moving to the exact same unpin technology and frame on the next gen Tundra and for the Tacoma. So the Tundra and Tacoma sharing the same underpinned frame saves Toyota money. What that also means is they will likely first release the next gen Tundra next year or 2022 and then the Tacoma comes out the following year. They wouldnt release both the same year. Just like the next gen 4runner is getting the 3.5 liter atkinson motor 3rd gen tacomas currently have. They first push something out to consumers, see how it does then move forward with it.

Absolute garbage. Have a good time parking and maneuvering that thing + resale value.

I come up with $3000 more than the base SR model. Yes, it's ridiculous. Really, all the prices are ridiculous, except maybe the base 4 cyl model, and I'm sure the 4 cyl is useless with the auto, and the weight of the access cab. All the mid-size, and full-size 1/2 tons carry a laughable price. I'm seriously considering an F250 super duty with the new 7.3 gasoline engine, and 10 spd transmission. I can still spec out what I want in an F250, and the price won't be much more than a Tacoma, and hopefully no frame rust out, or secondary air pump to fail. When I bought my 2011, I thought the rust issue was over with, and I'd not heard all this $2000 air pump failure crap. I though this was the last vehicle I was ever going to buy, guess I thought wrong...

Toyota eliminating the regular cab angers me as well. I don't need or want an access cab, so, why should I have to pay for it? The auto vs manual mess is just another slap in the face! I know, I know, GM and Chrysler don't have regular cabs either, but it still sucks! Ford does still have regular cabs, at least for now...

I think you're being a little bias with that comment. What is so junk about it? While I have not counted the exact numbers, there seems to be just as many TSB's with Toyotas compared to a Ram and just as many consumer complaints of the "nuances" of the vehicles.

As for value, I know Toyotas have a great residual and resale but you have to consider that is comparing beginning MSRP where Toyota does not come off sticker like Full Sized American Trucks. I paid $38k for my 2011 Ford F150 and got $31k as a trade in 3 years and average miles later.

Even my current 2019 Ram at just 15 months old is worth $36k as a trade in, at a time where ALOT of depreciation should be taking place. I paid $41k, it stickered at $52k.

My point, the "value" isn't always as bad as you think on the other side of the fence. In all reality though, a Tacoma should never be compared to a full sized pickup, it's just apples and oranges and they are meant for different jobs. Ram vs Tundra, now you have a reasonable discussion.

I didn’t have a problem buying one. I just asked really nicely, said please, and they ordered me one up. Maybe it’s your anger?
