2020 Fog Light Question

I did a search for my question several different ways, but haven't found what I was looking far.

2020 Tacoma

Is there a way the fog lights and LED lights around the headlights can stay on during the day? I don't want my headlights on during the day only the fog lights and LED lights.

I would also like them to still be on at night when using low beam headlights and off with high beams.

 

Does the 2020 stock not have the off/drl/parking/headlight on the signal stock? On my 18 TRD-OR it’s set just like that. If I turn it to DRL, obviously just the DRLS are on, but if I turn it to Parking, it turns on the interior lights on and rear lights, and I’d I have the fogs turned on, they come on too. While keeping DRLs brighter than when the headlights come on.

Not without some modifications to be factory wiring.

 

Don't you have a fog light switch on the left stalk. Turn that on and lights on drl. Least is that way in my 18

 

Use these two settings to achieve what you want. This will have your fogs on with DRL, and no headlights.

 

Unfortunately that one part is impossible... The way the BCM does DRL's even if you rewired stuff to allow it the body control module turns the interior dash lights off any time DRL's are on. You'd have to do a total rewire of all lighting and make it all manual control to achieve this.

 

Also in that position your DRL would dimmer with the fogs on.

 

My 18 doesn’t dim the DRL in that setting. Even with fogs on, only when headlights turn on does the DRL dim.

 

I will check it out today to see if mine does dim cause I thought for sure it did.

 

Remember the DRL’s are always dimmed(or is it always bright?) in park, at least my ‘16 doesn’t change brightness at all when it’s in park…

Edit: Maybe it’s the parking brake that affects this… I always have my park brake on when the truck’s in park… Force of habit, this is my first auto, but wanted DCLB…

 

DRLs will dim when the fog lights, sidemarkers, taillights or headlights are illuminating. DRL will not turn on if the truck is started with the parking brake engaged, in accessory mode, or when the truck is completely turned off (unless the parking/headlights are turned on). The DRL does not dim if the parking brake is engaged after the truck is turned on.

 

I actually noticed this behaviour yesterday on my 2020. I was behind someone at a traffic light and I turned my fogs off.. the DRL LEDs immediately came on.

 

I knew it so were the DRL became brighter or where they completely off.

 

Ok, here I’ll help you guys out. 2018 TRD OR w/TRD PRO factory headlights installed by Toyota Dealership when I bought my truck.
Truck off


Truck on (with parking brake on) just because ole boy said they don’t come on.


Truck on, and fog lights on with stock in parking lights mode this means my interior lights come on, tail lights come on, and side marker lights come on. I can turn my fogs on or off (with hand brake on)



Headlights on, DRL will dim down when headlights come on.

Your light switch is different then our Sport we cannot control the DRL like your OR.

You are right about the Canadian part but the taco was made in Texas so it is American.
