I think some of this is fed, too. I grew up in a Ford family. Grandfather owned a machine shop and rebuilt engines for 40 years. So he kinda main-lined all of us with the Ford Kool-Aid. To this day I'll not buy a GM anything. But a Toyota? All day. If I needed a full size truck again I'd skip the Tundra/F-150 and go to an F-250. Would it cost more to buy? Would it cost more to maintain? Would it be less reliable? I'd say yes to all, but that's based on the fact MY Toyotas have never failed me, but my two Fords (89 Ranger 2.9l and 96 F-350 460) both did. If the Fords had been current models they'd probably be more reliable, but to be fair, my 86 Toyota with the 22R was old and rock solid.

The Ford Everest doesn't comes as a 2-door, so the Bronco won't either. There's no market for 2-door SUVs any more. Even the 2-door Wrangler is just hanging on, accounting for just 18% of Wrangler sales.

BTW, Ford has a history of selling global-platform vehicles in the US, to cut development costs, even when the resulting design isn't ideal for the US market. Think Ford Kuga/Escape, Modeo/Fusion, and Focus. The Focus will be assembled in China and imported to the US starting in 2019 (see http://autoweek.com/article/car-news/ford-will-build-next-gen-focus-sedan-china)

Yuck. Looks like they combined a truck and a SUV and made the best features of both worse. A 4' bed that isn't big enough to haul anything and an access cab back seat.

They started with with ford reliability then will slap on a raptor price tag for some cosmetic plastic and graphics. Under that cover is probably something like a pot-bellied pig with lipstick (dog you can't pet and a pig you can't eat). Sure the little house pigs may have been a brief fad a decade ago but who really knows anyone that owned one.

Fucking lol at the big brains who think that the Bronco is actually gonna look like that prototype

The Bronco isn't even going to be a truck. It's been confirmed from Ford that it's going to be an SUV... what's shown in those spy photos obviously isn't going to be the final version...

10yrs ago I would’ve been excited. Had nothing but Fords for years. Just kinda meh and the whole retro thing is done with to me. Always thought that concept was pretty sweet tho.

Big ones are King suspension, SSO bumper w/winch, Pelfreybuilt sliders.
Something about the grill I don't like. The rest of it looks modern, but the grill looks like it's too flattened compared to the curves on the rest of the truck. You do need it to be iconic, but I don't think the mashup works in these images. At least not for me, but I can't really put my finger on why. Other trucks have flat grills...so I dunno.

I went and sat in the new ranger, if that's where they are starting with for the bronco... I'm probably going to pass. Sad. I thought it was going to be in my future but looks like not so much anymore.

You think ford would share the same exact interior too? I would think they would make it a little more premium like the new Jeep JLs.

I thought the interior was fine seemed nice actually. However, the rear seat configuration was poor at best, seats fold but don't really get out of the way, small under seat storage and no flat spot in the rear.

I didn't drive it but felt like the visibility was also not what felt appropriate for the seat elevation.

I don't know, I'd still like to see what they come up with but the ranger other than the interior quality dose not peak my interest.

I think it's like finding another man's dipstick in your truck or something :notsure:

On a serious note, most of us take for granted the test mule's slapped-together bodywork is just for testing. After the Cybertruck though, you can never be sure...

Don’t know if this has been posted yet

    https://jalopnik.com/heres-the-2020...e-showing-off-1840938621#js_discussion-region

They say it will have IFS which is odd if they were going after Jeep Wrangler sales.

I gave up waiting for the Bronco just to see if it would have a solid front axle and couldn't give in to Jeeps reliability. Which is why I bought my Tacoma.

Now that it’s confirmed that the Bronco will have IFS I think I made a good choice.

I bet the FJ Cruiser would have continued to sell better and better each year had it had a solid front axle to compete with the Wrangler but no. They catered to the wrong group and it died and this Bronco will die prematurely as well.
