I've never seen a back to back race except for maybe Indy car. Is this how it usually goes?

 

"The format would feature a standard race weekend for the first meeting. On the following Saturday a 30-minute race with a grid ordered in reverse championship standings would be held to decide qualifying positions for the second race."

Thats from the article on how it would look. I doubt Merc (already against it), Ferrari, or Red Bull would be on board for reverse grid. Why make their cars take more risk going through the pack then just starting up front

It will be interesting to see how the teams handle back-to-back racing for eight weekends. Granted, there's not as much travel but having everything on point each week is more like NASCAR than F1.
