i wouldn't be opposed to giving Lewis and Merc the championships now and having them sit out the rest of the season. Then we could get some actual racing.

Was disappointed in Bottas for botching his 2nd place start. I guess that was some Merc drama, lol. Couple quick questions from a F1 sorta newb (I've only started watching races religiously this year):

    1. Why is Lewis always out front and so far ahead? Is he really just that good? Is his car the best? Is it all of the above?
    2. What happened to Kimi? He seems like such a legend but is now always at the back of the pack. Is Alpha just that bad in the car they provide? Has he passed his prime or something?

Although it's not, nor probably will ever be, clear how much is the driver and how much is the car.

I think it's tough to compare them all, totally different cars, different eras and very different racing technology between all 3 of them

Lets try Lewis, Max, and LeClerc in the same car (any car in the field) and let them slug it out. The worse the car the better...

Wasn't my point, I expect he is a very talented driver, it's how much is which one. Put Hamilton in the Alpha by the same argument. Love to see either one, but I know I won't.

that would be fun, ide say put them all in the worse car and see how they do, ide bet at least one of them would still be on the podium.

There is zero chance any driver could get this year's Alfa Romeo on the podium lol

Time to spice things up this year, a driver lottery. Each race they draw numbers, first one get's to pick a car, second one picks of the one's left, etc., etc.,,,,:thumbsup:

I think (for me) it's hard to compare drivers/cars across different generations and definitively say for sure. Kinda like the whole LeBron/Jordan conversation (I will probably get shit also for bringing that up.) There were different rules, different car setups etc. But...undoubtedly, Lewis is one of the all time greats. His focus and mindset for racing I think is superior to anyone else I've seen. I wasn't really old enough for the Senna days though, although I've seen documentaries, old footage etc.

I don’t see him going anywhere with Redbull. Last year he showed promise this year he is just a man driving laps around a racetrack.

If Racing Point starts to catch up in the Constructors and Albon keeps finishing below them they might.

Well he has the best car on the circuit, and he just crushes his teammate, so I'm guessing its a combination of both. Lewis is the best driver in F1 now, possibly ever.

I hope Honda can close the performance gap, and Ferrari can remove their cranium from their rectum.

If I was running F1, would make a rule that if you have the most powerful engine, you're technology is frozen while the others play catch up to close the gap.

Doubt he would make it to Q3 very often...lol His reflexes just aren't sharp enough to drive for a top tier program.
