That's where I would lay my bet. Perez's Mexican sponsorship money would get the most bang for the buck with the American team. They could use his steady foot (the best tire manager on the grid) and experience to develop their car.

 

but would he do it? don't know his sentiment but that seems a bit desperate for Perez (who undoubtedly just became significantly richer thanks to Lawrence paying him off).

 

If he wants to stay in F1. You're right, I bet he has a pile of cash to lie on while he thinks about his options. He can easily go to Formula E, Indy, or WEC also.

If... I know it’s a long shot... but if Toto went to race with his pal Lawrence at Aston, Hamilton might decide on not renewing his Merc contract.

This year has been a fuck up in so many ways it not out of the realm of possibilities...

 

Lewis is all but guaranteed another world championship next year with Mercedes. No way he would give that up. The rules & cars don't change until the following year.

 

We (and the F1 grid) can only hope he -- or Hulk, or damned near any warm body -- replaces Grosjean.

Haas I think could use the financial injection. But they're Ferrari's C Team so Perez would know where he'd be on next year's grid. Williams on the other hand has new ownership, new financing, Mercedes power.
