My 2020 backup camera is WAY better than my 2017. Both are entune plus. The 2020 head unit has better resolution and clarity. The 2017, not even close.

Any age in a parking lot, just throw it in reverse and hit the gas... that kid walking behind the vehicle can be replaced apparently.

Her Avalon has a different camera in it... there are two components when talking about back up cam systems: Camera resolution and head unit resolution. In the Tacoma it seems they went with the same camera resolution (again from what I could find quickly on the interwebs) as with previous 3rd Gen's but did make a screen resolution. That is akin to you taking that 3x5 photo and blowing it out to 8x10.. see how grainy and ugly it looks...

I assumed the camera in the Avalon was better quality but also assumed the head unit was basically the same. They look the same on everything except the back up camera. Are you saying the resolution of the head units are different resulting in fuzzier image on the Tacoma?

There's already a release of front and rear camera kit at anytimebackupcamera.com for the 2020 Tacoma & 4runner .The video quality is excellent. Rear camera is tested and working fine. per source, only the front camera kit needs to have some testers to report back of its installation and video imaging quality. If you're one of those testers, please respond back to him ASAP so he can start mass producing more 2020 kits and make them available for shipping.

The head unit is probably the same, I did not research head unit parts... however lets go with them being the same resolution and quality. The camera's are not the same, thus my point is still the same.. BOTH need to be the same resolution/quality in order to get the correct resolution/quality.. IF Tacoma has not updated their camera (on the Tacoma) and upgraded the resolution on the head unit (or even just size) then the picture would look low quality. Just like the picture example I said.

Would be cool if you could get one together, for others, personally I do not see an issue with the stock camera.

Just bought a Lexus RX450HL. It has 360 and it's awesome resolution. Look into switching out with these cameras. Think they just went cheap in the tacoma. But fancy on the Lexus.

Lexus cam is too pricey for me. I'll stick with what I have.

I don't think you know what you're talking about...I've been following his social media and checking the website every day since September. It was supposed to be out in November. There hasn't been a peep.

Why don’t you shoot the vendor an email and hear first thing from him? I was supposed to beta test the kit as well but was too chickened to be a guinea pig after contacting him. I did have my mounting bracket made by an auto fabrication shop designed to fit a camera of choice on the OR grill and have purchased the 2 OEM screws to fit that pre-existing mounting screw holes from toyota dealer. Now it’s a waiting game to get that “2020” kit delivered to the door.

I did, received October 25th: "Yes sir. I will have the 2020 kits available around the end of the month. I will announce on my Instagram @anytimebackupcamera when available."

There has been nothing on his instagram or website since.

But did you preorder the kit though..I am one of the people that paid already so he would send you that kit if you’re willing to test it for him and tell him how it goes.

I thought it might be a bad idea to pay almost $200 for a product that's not listed with no information about it on the product page or the company instagram. :der: If there had been any information given out I would've probably done it. Seems really weird to rely on people blindly giving money to be your testers.

Also, these people sign an NDA or something? Besides radio silence from ABC, there's been nothing on Tacomaworld, Tacoma3g, Facebook, etc. So it sounds like you're just making stuff up.

I guess...sure? I've seen newer vehicles with worse cameras. Actually the one on this truck has a great wide view and clarity for what it is...and camera so I don't hit shit. Just keep it clean and you can put in some brighter reverse lights if it helps. I've backed down steep, snow-covered trails bordering a 100ft gully and could not have done it without this camera....we do not need to get into how that came to be. Could it be better? Sure!! Is it bad? No. Just my 2 cents.
