I have the JBL system in my 2020 and it works awesome, sounds great, carplay works flawlessly (except Toyota's crapy move not to include wireless carplay), and the cams work... I saw no difference between the 19's and 20's that I test drove before I purchased my 20.... what has changed?

Not sure of all the changes but I sure don't remember all the buttons or two nobs on the '19 I had. The salesman pointed out some other stuff, oh apple play, but I don't recall the other differences. I was surprised it was as different as it was. The old was one fine from what I remember. apple play is whatever. I may get to like it more, it's just new at the moment.

I should have been more clear, my apologies, I was just going with that this thread was focused on the camera's that it was implied in my question on what changed with the cameras.. again my bad on that. I saw no difference in camera quality or camera's themselves, from my research both the 19 and 20 seem to use the same PN for the back cam... maybe something with the 360 cameras has changed the clarity but during my test drives I could not tell any difference in quality from 19 to 20.

The head unit, itself is different... did they use a less resolution screen in the 19? Maybe smaller? That could be it.

Yeah, it was going with cameras, I got high and sidetracked. My bad. I've got no clue if the cameras are different. I do know it was easier to see with the rear camera on my '19 with the same equipped truck.

How did you get your camera to power on? Did you have to splice any wire harness?

Brian from ABC did the install, as I was close to him and he wanted to ensure there were no bugs before releasing it. I didn't stand over his shoulder (too much!) and watch, or ask a million questions, so I honestly don't know where he pulled power from. But he seems very reachable and open to answering any questions.

The kit doesn't involve splicing any harness. The kit includes harnesses (2) that go between your radio and existing harnesses. It is completely possible to restore it to factory if needed as it doesn't require modifying the stock wiring . I've installed it on my 2020 as well.

It only has the rear camera. I'm not sure how this would work with the multi cam (I would ask Brian at Anytime). It might isolate only the front/rear but I'm not sure.

I think the Germes Lab camera setup will work but I haven't heard anything about a 2020 release yet. I believe they have a multi-relay control that allows you to cycle through several cameras if that's what you're after. I'm sure this setup isn't inexpensive...

Been busy with work but I’ll install it this Tuesday. I want to install it as close to factory looks as possible so here is my set up with anytime camera kit. Can you tell me where to connect the red and black wires to coming out of the red RCA and the gray and blue wires to illuminate the switch?

The red is soldered/crimped to the red on the long RCA harness. The black goes to any ground point on the truck. Mine goes to a ground located on the inner fender by the fuse panel under the hood. If you look under the hood you'll see a 6mm bolt (I think) that attaches a ground wire to the inner fender. I just unbolted it and added the camera ground using a ground ring I soldered to the wire.

The red on the cab side can be spliced to the green coming out of the relay. It will turn the camera on when the relay is activated.

The Blue/Grey on the switch will connect to the Blue/Grey on the radio harness. These are for the switch backlight.

    Hope that makes sense...

I have the multi cam on my truck and they are great. At first I was concerned it was a gimmick but out on the trails it actually works pretty good. I really like when you crest the hill you can look in the camera and see the terrain instead of just the sky and hood. You are able to choose different displays and you can also change the camera view angle. The downside is that it auto changes off above a certain speed.

I went ahead and purchased this kit hoping it would work with the multi. If it doesnt hopefully I can work something out with Brian at Anytime.

I agree it really does help when on a trail decent and your Str8 looking at the sky and crossing fingers you got the right trajectory. The 5mph limit though is a total bummer and that’s what I hope to change with this kit.

I really thought this was a gimmick but it’s becoming one of my favorite features and hate the switching on/off.
I really hope this anytime on kit works for the 2020, I would like one too.

I thought about red on red at the camera's RCA end or Add a fuse option. I'll just crimp the red wires. Do you think it is a good idea to cut the long RCA harness and solder it together? I'd hate to zip tie a bundle of excess wire harness anywhere within the engine bay. Thanks for the help!

You can cut and solder the ends including the power wire. If you search the interwebs, you'll find several companies that make a nice soldered RCA end. I have made my own. Depending on your soldering skillz, a safer option might be to pull the excess into the cab and zip tie there.

I guess it depends on what your standards of "perfectly" are. If you consider a blurry mess "perfect", than good for you. However, perhaps it is YOU who should run along instead, maybe to an optometrist, Mr. Smartass?
