Out here in Pismo Dunes there's a guy that operates an old military tow truck (10+ wheels, huge fucking thing) and just cruises around the dunes looking for people that are stuck and need a tow...except he charges minimum $500 lol. But if you get stuck bad out there then you'll need his help, that sand is way deep and soft. Especially if you're out there alone

Yeah I would too, I mean the gas alone on that thing has got to cost a fortune...can't just go around pulling people out for free. I only know how much he costs because we had to flag him down once to help rescue a guy stuck way far out there in a 2wd Ram with 20" rims (no fucking clue how he got that far in the first place, we were all in 4wd). We tried helping him for awhile but just couldn't get his truck out. The tow truck guy told us "$500 minumum depending on how far" so we relayed that back to the guy and he said he'd call his friend with a big Jeep and 12k winch lol. He eventually got out, saw him and his truck on the beach later that night.

One of my best friends lives up in Idaho and has an old military Humvee (M998 I think?), I haven't ridden in it yet since he got it after he left CA but I've seen his photos of trails he does out there with it. Looks like a blast but I don't know how he gets it through some of the narrow trails out there.

lol yeah @cruiserguy hasn't been around in awhile, he should join in on this meet up too once he comes back around.

The whole meat curtains references came about from something I posted in the lunch table way back, but I don't remember what it was....but they never let me forget about it.

Oh wait, I think someone posted a photo of some raw bacon that looked graphic...if I recall right. Said I wanted a minute alone with it or something

Probably about that yeah, I'd want to make it at least that long just based on how much of a drive it is for me.

As stated, this is the unofficial thread.

I have vacation time I haven't used up this year and last, so I will be taking a few days off.

It seems others are more available on a weekend, even though there will be traffic out there.

With that being said, if we get a general idea of when (weekdays/weekends) and what month (possibly October it seems, non-holiday so less people), then we can later begin an official, non-bs thread.
