And you guys have 80mph speed limits, which my weighted down truck could barely maintain. I think I averaged 10mpg on this trip

 

Well, I lied, that’s how. Apple Maps said 8 to St. George

 

I couldn't believe how many stops we made for gas

Every fill up I was at half tank or just above

 

Yeah mine says 5hr 45, so just about the same. I round up to account for stops or traffic or whatever

To be fair there was only one time where I filled up with a 1/4 tank left, most times I was at around or a little under half a tank. I don't like getting low on gas though on trips where I'm not familiar with when the next gas station will be, combined with my piss poor MPG lol

 

That gas station in Vegas was sketch as fuck

Even the bathrooms were locked up

I stopped 3x for gas. The 2nd fill up was only done because I had to pee and I was at a gas station.

8 hour drive for me, only because I have to go around the Grand Canyon. So almost the same as going to Moab.

Usually I'm the same way, but Utah desert is the kind of desert I'd consider to be actually beautiful. Not CA desert which is like being condemned to Satan's asshole

 

Before you posted that I was like "just need my front locker, make it a straight shot"

 

Actually I take that back a little bit, parts of Mojave and Death Valley (the high desert areas) are quite beautiful the right time of year.

I'd love to do a trip further north, but that would need to be a weeklong one at least to account for 2 days of driving to/from.
