Nice. Smart move on both accounts. Toyota driver development is a logjam and will bottle-necked so long as they only have 4-6 number of TRD seats in Cup and Xfinity. Ford does not have a lot of depth in driver development. Top Ford prospects are Custer, Briscoe, Cindric, and now, Deegan. This is some good depth, as we'll see the 4, 6, 10, 14 open up in the next 2-3 years. 17, 32, 34, 36, and 38 are fluid situations. 2, 12, 21, 22, 17, and 41 are locked up for the foreseeable future.

Now, let's get these development drivers experienced across the board. Put them in as many different types of race cars as possible before moving them up to Cup. I hope Custer wasn't rushed, as I have high hopes for his career.

Apparently her dad has a good relationship with Ford too.

I've talked in other threads about evolution being a good thing... so I cant be a hypocrite here.

However... I will say I like evolution to a point. I was cool with the COT. It kept most traditional aspects of the car while modernizing it. The EFI thing was ok too. But I have to draw the line at PDK and indie rears.

The point of NASCAR and stock car racing in general was to build a car with minimal engineering characteristics and focused on driver ingenuity. Raw power meeting raw driving skill.

The reason i see F1 as a borefest is all the technological gizmos that are in the cars. All the driver is is basically a steering wheel holder. And not much passing.

Yet another reason this last holdout may turn off the sport for good.

Kiddo got what he wanted for Christmas. I tracked down all the Days of Thunder Matchbox Luminas and the lone Stroker Ace Hot Wheels T-Bird. He's been racing all day. I tried to post this on r/nascar but mods removed it like they've been removing my other posts for the past few months.

No wonder reddit has been seeming dead lately... what else have they been removing?

I was told by a mod that my posts were too similar, and I was like “uh, yeah they’re about stock car racing.” I was polite and told them they had a thankless job as mods. That was mid-November. It was surprising because my posts are never controversial and most get retweeted.

Yeah, I do feel the immaturity in there. My opinions always get downvoted... even when they are factually proven.
