This may be the end of the road for me. If I want to watch sports car racing, I'll watch sports car racing. This is fucking Nascar, why the hell are they wanting to be like every other form of racing.

Not to mention they are taking all the skill out of it. Wider tires with smaller sidewalls add a ton of grip. Independent rear suspension allows them to load the hell out of the right rear so again tons of grip. Paddle or in line shifters that I am sure will be electronically controlled. Spec chassis, whats the fucking point. I don't really think HMS is going to enjoy competing with GMS because HMS has invested a couple hundred million more than GMS! Now we are hooking a hose to the car so fuck all the gas men, I am sure that will also be following by a cart style single nut to hold on the wheel so fuck having pit crews. Top it off with Austin Dylan out there winning races 5 laps down because he is in eco mode strategy.

I agree. This has gone in the total opposite direction I was hoping the new car would be.

I suspect a lot of drivers will be hanging it up before the 2021 season. Hell I might be able to get a job driving one of these new cars!

We need a few of these old drivers to create a NASCAR legends series where they run 90's style cars and rules at tracks NASCAR has dumped maybe once a month. Places like The Rock!! If someone did that the stands would be packed. Screw everything that is not on the east coast. Make it regional again.

I can like this a million times. This new shit is really sad. I'm 41 years old been a Nascar fan my whole life, my 1st race I attended was the coke 600 that Kyle Petty won. I will attend the night race at Martinsville this year and probably the southern 500, and that will probably be it for me. Being a fan of the sport for sooo long, I will give the new car a chance, but I honestly don't think it's gonna work for me.

Same here. I am 40 and used to go to The Rock, Richmond & Martinsville every race. Some years I would attend several others also but every year, every race I was at those dating back to the early 90's. After moving out west I tried Vegas and hated it. Then tried Auto Club once and that was the worst experience ever! My son is 11 and the at track is so bad now I do not even want to take him to one of the races out west. I might fly my son and I out to the Martinsville night race and then I think they will do it for me. When I was a kid being at the track was awesome, all the trailers for the drivers and the atmosphere was great. When I got a little older we would get to the track 10 hours before the race started with a case of beer and have a grand ol time. Now it is just pathetic!

Yes sir, wasn't anything better. If you make it to the Martinsville night race, be sure to hit me up. Me and my 17 yr old son will be there.

Sounds good. I will let you know. Used to camp up at Bugs Island (John H. Kerr Dam) so was thinking about taking him out there for a week then hitting the track for the race. Maybe spend a couple weeks around where I grew up in southern VA. Maybe see whats going on at South Boston. Have to get us some of those old M-Ville Hot Dogs!!!!! I was so pissed the last time I was there and the train tracks were moved. I was like WTF is this shit! LOL.... I hate change.

When I went to vegas I had to pay $40 to park in a parking lot. I was like hell this is not NASCAR. At the rock we parked out in the sand somewhere and in Martinsville you had to dodge cow patties to get from your truck to the track. And once you hit race traffic you could crack some cold ones. Can't do that shit anymore.

Going to Richmond the party started as soon as you got off of I-64. The good old days!

I don't like change either, I'm just old school I guess. Going to Darlington was that way, as soon as we got off interstate 20, popping tops. People were parked in yards, on side of the roads, partying like hell. It was like a rolling party parade all the way to the track. Bristol was kinda the same way, bit that track ain't worth a shit no more. Talladega still has the old school feel, the infield and outside of the track, outside of the track still has free camping, and party's all day and night.

That is how it was as soon as you got off of I-64 going to Richmond. When I was in my late teens we did the weekend at Dega camping gig. Holy shit those Bama girls know how to party!! Nothing but rebel flags and milk glands!! LOL....
