Should look like fast and furious Tokyo drift, with the led under glow shit. And the fucked up number placement.

That's a big 10-4. That and the movie Cars. Both came out like 15 years ago, now those kids are the key demographic. Give 'em that good ol' nostalgia buzz in a world of chaos. Jokes on NASCAR 'cause much of the 18-35 demographic don't have any jobs right now. I've got to give NASCAR some credit here. At least they're not intentionally painting themselves into a corner like Harley Davidson.

I'm looking forward to seeing what this Tony Stewart/Ray Evernham thing looks like. I'm sure they had to jump through a multitude of hoops to make this deal happen. NASCAR does not appreciate potential rivals and I wouldn't be surprised if SHR suddenly has to pass through inspection more than usual.

At this point, NASCAR is like a big PPV prize fight in Vegas. All the buildup, the PR buzz, the hype, and occasionally a good show. Meanwhile, the real good stuff is taking place with a bunch of rowdy folks in the woods swinging wildly on a Saturday night. I'm talking about dirt-track racing here, not fisticuffs, but honestly, they're often two in the same and that's why we love it. There's no need for meaningless razzle-dazzle when the product is fantastic.

I'd imagine the number placement is more for a larger space for advertising. Pretty soon, all the cars will look like Ricky Bobby's w/ the advertising plastered across the windshield.

I think they're intentionally pushing this concept then they'll backpedal to what they really want as a perceived compromise. Kind of like elected politicians. I bet they actually go with something akin to the old BGN cars from the 80s. The next-gen car leaves little room for rear fender sponsor placements. I mean, if you ask me, just leave it off the sides entirely. It's okay if the car looks like a race car and not a 170 mph billboard. I tune in to see good-looking race cars, not a logo parade.

I remember begging to stay up and watch it as a kid. It was majorly hyped and did not disappoint. I remember jumping up and down and yelling at the TV during that wild finish, and then, as a kid realizing the reality of the situation that Davey was hurt and this stuff was real.

I do not remember the race but sat through the 45 minute special yesterday on tv and it was really great...
I highly recommend if anyone wants to kill 45 minutes in front of a screen

I will never forget that night. My father... Who is a huge Allison fan ( first Bobby and then his son) had an absolute heart attack in that final lap. I remember him jumping up and down like a total idiot... And then after he hit the wall I saw his face totally drained. Being a seven-year-old little kid I didn't quite grasp exactly what was happening at that time.

The only time I had ever seen him look worse was when they announced Davey had actually died in that helicopter crash.

I rarely comment/agree in this thread due to the severe boomer mentality and general hate for change...but with that being said, your last sentence makes a lot of sense here. If the product was better there would be no need for stages, underglow, or larger sponsor space.

Also 110% dirt track racing is the gem of America's motorsports scene. I am fortunate to live in the heart of dirt track racing and I never leave disappointed. While Nascar seems to regress dirt tracks are progressing with revamped facilities and more seating.

I attended a dinner with Harry last year and he is every bit the polite gentleman. Just a real humble guy full of fantastic stories. He really makes an impression on you.

I'm not a fan of pomp & circumstance outside of Formula 1, as that's kinda their thing. Considering its roots, American stock car racing can't be raw, gritty, and formal.
