I'm fixing to be 25 (their target group) and my God they might make me bow out.... I mean I cant stay awake for a whole IMSA race... and nascar is fixing to be imsa.... JOKE. But then again I went and bought a 2 door V8 just because it was a 2 door V8 so I must not be normal.

 

Then who TF is Nascar trying to cater too?

 

There is some truth to this. Camping at a race, is the only time, I've popped the top on a cold one at 8:30 in the morning.

Like I said in a long rant earlier in the thread... NASCAR was supposed to be "stock cars "... basically ran cars with little mods. If they go this route they may as well go ahead and chop the fenders off too... because that would be the only thing that separates them from F1.

I did Daytona and Talladega in the 90s... when it was actually an event and drivers gave a damn. Friend still goes to dega out of tradition but the environment is all different now.

There's a difference in change and completely revamping your formula. NASCAR is just destroying a good thing.

No, we need backmarkers to get wins no matter what. How dare a team spend money and be better. We have to end that. If someone is better than we need them to go home, we cant have that.

 

My kid is getting antsy about the new season starting. He said, "dad I'm tired of there not being any racing on Sundays!" I'm anxious for Daytona. Looking forward to attending Atlanta and Bristol. Maybe Talladega and Martinsville in the Fall. Mulling over Summer Daytona but the weather is always iffy and now it's smack-dab in hurricane season.

I flew into Indy this week. Work trip. I didn't have time to visit the track.

 

It's a good step. They need to add Darlington to this list. That race was absolutely neutered last year. I will not go back until they fix the racing there.

 

Speedfest in cordele next week! Real racing at a real racetrack...

 

Did they ever put a wall on the backstretch? I’m jealous. I have to go to Vegas for SHOT show and won’t be back in time.

Little Talladega is like that in T1 & T2. Pretty neat to see someone fly off the turn and rejoin the race. Probably saves a lot of cars & door panels.

 

Xfinity will be running the road course at Indy this year.
