Want me to drop off my 4Runner for you to test fit those 38s on? You know, so you can make sure you know what’s needed to fit them on yours

It's been done. A buddy of mine is IFS LT 3.5 over on 40's. Another buddy is LT 2 over on 38's. Lots of guys are running 37's. I might be one of the few that does it without LT or a body lift. Even then I'm pretty sure I'll need a 1/2"-3/4" body lift to clear the fender wells at full stuff.

I'm on 4.25 BS with 1.25" spacers. If I do this I would go to a 3.5" BS beadlock and keep the spacers.

RCV doesn't have a limit on tire size. ECGS has a 35" limit to warranty the diff but they are VERY liberal with it. I'm not worried about voiding any warranty. I'm more worried about driving it on the highway. It barely holds hills on 35's. It's gonna suck on 38's. lol

You talking about Kyle and Andrew? They have some serious rigs. They have proved that IFS can definitely hang.
I've been thinking about trying to mess with fitting a double ended hydro ram where the steering rack is to make up for larger rubber. Maybe one of these days I'll actually try and make it happen.
I'll be curious on how it goes with no LT. I would think that you would have to french in part of the frame or something for clearance with the tires so that you can have any kind of decent steering angle.

Don't know if Jason has a BL or not, but I know he cut out his inner fenders and made a custom tube support for his fiberglass from the firewall up in order to clear full stuff.

Gotcha. I have 3.5 BS wheels and when I go 35's, I'm wondering how bad the rubbing will be on the frame.
Your rig's gonna be reaaal wide at that point. and yea I didn't even think about gear ratios lol. 4runner's gonna be hating life on the highway with 38's

Got a weekend trip in to south cow mountain OHV area. Was fun, and definitely damn cold! 2A962425-B5E9-4085-8154-59C41F49F775.jpg

Isn't that the spot at the sharp left on 1?

Always driven past it but never stopped.

That ain’t even close. That’s like an hour and a half from Petaluma and 2 hours from Marin. But the Sonoma coast is really a beautiful and wild coastline.

I don't have any great suggestions, but for "light trails" (for a "light off-roader" such as myself - signatures never lie) you might want to look at Cow Mountain OHV, Knoxville OHV, or the bottom of Mendocino NF (eg, near Hull Mountain). Caveat: all of those have taken some pretty significant fire damage recently, and they're all ~2h from Petaluma

I was just at south cow mountain, mostly easy, can make it harder if you look for it.

Anyone gone up to bowman area since it snowed? I’m headed that way Saturday to camp for a night, wonder what to expect. My thoughts were a half foot of snow maybe?
