    Well said jason. The wet conditions do numbers to our trails. Like i said, there is a portion at my 2nd home that is all fucken rutted. Its only gonna get worse. The worst is when people go off and start making their own trail. Saw alot of that up by uncle toms

    For the record, that pic I posted with the "road closed" sign is MET, not a road in or around Morrison. I don't think there are any paved roads around that area.

    This comment makes me truly miss Colorado. A road to Mordor and adventure is like 30-50 minutes away AT ALL TIMES(sorta). Access to it all is never limited unless it's for a unmaintained seasonal Pass or private land. But a month or so ago i needed some mountain therapy and headed up to Mt Umunhum near me. The weather was misty at the bottom of Hicks Rd and the higher i got the colder it was and next thing you know its snowing just below the old military instillation(rare). I get near the top and the ranger was turning folks around to be able to close a gate. We struck up a conversation about access to parks and gates and closures etc and the ranger made a remark i will never forget(at the time i still had Colorado plates)"the lowest common denominator is pretty low in California and we have to account for that"... Ouch...
