Good point. Looking at my paperwork, the price BEFORE TTL was $39,900 (which was pretty much right around invoice). Again, this was for a fully loaded '20 TRD Off Road DCSB w/ Auto. Feel pretty good about the deal.

Nice, thats a great deal this early in the year, but I know car sales are in the slump too, I've been in these trucks and bought a "few" invoice or just below is the best you're gonna get, gotta keep that high resale.

Do keep in mind that I took the car home on 12/24/19, so... they WERE trying to meet those EOY sales quotas. I doubt this deal could be had in Denver right now.

Same with my last truck, walked in the Saturday night after Thanksgiving after a few weeks of back and forth with a few dealers on prices/trade, had quotes saved in my phone just in case, did the tap dance with the sales manager (sales guy could give a f**k if a sale was gonna be made), walked out after he asked me what it would take to take the truck and then laughed at me (my counter was $33k for my trade that I paid $33.2k for it June and $37k for the new truck w/$42.3k MSRP), got a call 10 mins later to come back and sign the paperwork.

I'm in Chicagoland and have a cement OR! Maybe that's why I got a good deal on it (~15% of MSRP).

LED, tech, premium, DC. That thing is fully loaded as the OR can get, looks like added tires, PPF, etc etc on the OR. I just bought an unloaded OR (Nothing, no tech, premium, LED, etc) for 36 before TTL. Might have been a little steep but spot on what others are paying and true car. Could have waited but the maintenance on my trade in through the winter would top out the gap, so why wait?

Yep I was a bit perplexed why it’s not as popular here as when I was in AZ. That’s okay I like being unique. I also like not seeing 5 tacomas every time I go for a drive like when I was in AZ as they don’t seem quite so popular here.

And damn I had to pull teeth to get 13% off MSRP back in Nov before any rebates. I guess if I had taken the $1000 rebate I would have been at 15%. Just took the 1.9% and my military rebate, put me at $36,500 before TTL MSRP $42383. Good stuff.

I'd bet real money against that. For every "overland"-ish Tacoma there's 20 retired boomers putting around Lowe's and Golden Corral with their SR5s. IG "overlanders" are going for 4Runners and Jeeps.

I'd say 50 / 50, jump on IG and search tacoma and you'll see tons and tons and tons of trucks decked out for "overlanding", etc. Hell just seeing some of the builds on this forum, but ya I do see alot of old dudes rocking no frills TRDs or Sr5s.

I just don’t get what you guys are looking at. I paid $34k for a TRD OR new out the door last year. 2020’s are about $35,500 here now. So many on the lot they can’t even move them all.

Base model, sure. Add on Prem and Adv Tech packages and check it again.

I'm comparing it to my 17, which while it is a MT, I got it with everything and paid just over 32. To get the a 2020 with everything I'd be up quite a bit from that.

The massive price increase was with the added packages, LED, advanced tech, etc. Build a fully loaded TRD OR and see where it comes out, probably $44-46k, whereas a loaded 19 was $41-43k.

    Tech pack is only $700...

Not sure what more you could want. “Fully loaded” isn’t going to give you a blowie while cruising down the 405. Dual climate and JBL are just fluff. I wouldn’t pay $5k for a moon roof.

Okay the point is, to get JBL, moon rood and leather, you're paying a good chunk more than you did for a 19. I and many here do care about JBL and leather / moonroof.

I paid 44 thousand flat for my 2019 Tacoma pro. Honestly dude If I we’re you I’d get a off road and dump the extra money you didn’t spend on getting a pro and fix her up..I got mine with no finance super good deal, but to each its own..I like the headlight and twilight pro offers and the grille and trd skid plate and the exhaust sounds nice,on a off road you got to change those out depending how you want to build it..I’m going for bigger tires so imma change out my trd factory suspension to lift mines I’m not trying to put a shim and a add a leaf, I go wheeling so it’ll just break..

YOU wouldn't, but many would (and do). For my family - leather, sunroof, parking sensors, dual climate, lane change sensors, power heated seat, etc. are things we wanted in a new vehicle. To each their own.

You’re adding a few options there that are included with the regular models.
