2020 quicksand bumper caps question.

The black cap I picked up from RockAuto and are covered with a bumpershellz TPO to match the textured step. The black cap I received was smooth plastic ready to be painted but not a good match for the textured finish of the other plastic trim. If looking to match then the TPO is a perfect match.

Here's the broken corner.



A replacement chrome corner was $160, just for the cap.

 

Ah I see so you just ordered the black ones off of rock auto and painted them yourself to match. Have a link for the paint you used ? I have chrome ones now but love the matching plastic look.

 

Just get the black TPO from bumpershellz, I had to get a replacement corner and instead of replacing the chrome, I bought one cheaper black corner and matched the two different corners with a set of bumpershellz.

They are textured as a perfect match, not just painted.

Yessir, the bumpershells are really nice. You won't see one bit of that chrome once installed.

 

Good deal, just ordered them. Looks like 2-3 weeks. That ought to tie in well with the limo tint and black badging

 

Black and tan make a good combination.


The black rear bumper will now match the front.

I wish I would have found the one listed in this thread though, I have MGM and they don’t offer that color on eBay. I bought some black eBay ones and had them painted locally. Cost about the same as the ones listed here.

 

Looks good. If I had the black fender flares I might consider the black bumper

 

@jsinnard i went back and forth between color matching and just going the same route you did. In the end, I think if I hadn't bought it brand new, I would have gone black like yours. Since it was new, I knew I wouldn't have issues with faded paint so I went color matched.
Either way, your truck definitely looks great!

 

I purchased a set of these eBay bumper caps. The bumper caps were packaged well, actually three layers of wrapping. Color match isn’t exact, but it’s close enough for me to be content. I’ll take it over chrome.

I don’t know what the deal is on the 20’s with chrome caps .. luckily my truck is white so it looks good to me . On the other colors not so much .

 

I agree the chrome bumper caps blend really well with white and silver.
