Got done washing my car yesterday. Got in it this morning and rear tire was locked up and dragging. Stopped put it in reverse and it broke loose...truck has 2k miles on it, I know previous years had a recall for diff issue leaking...not fluid leaks from the truck. Just curious if I should have this looked at or is it’s just a normal issue with water getting into the brake boot. I just don’t want to be stranded somewhere down the road due to this issue.

I know an odd question but what was the temperature last night?

I know its May but where im at it was freezing last nite. It happened to me where I washed the truck and the following morning rear passenger brake was froze up.

Took a hammer and gave that drum some light taps. Make sure truck is in park and secure before doing this.

It happens to me every single time I wash my truck if I don’t take it for a short drive afterwards. Temp doesn’t seem to matter as the last time it happened my overnight temps were in the 70’s.

Flash rusting in the drums after washing is common to some trucks. Just drive it for a few after washing especially if you use the ebrake. Nothing more to it.
