2020 remote connect question

When I use remote connect for my 2020 Limited I can see the status of my doors being open/locked, my hood open/closed, but not window and/or moon roof status, although I've read that should be displayed as well.

Can you guys with 2020's see your window and moon roof (if you have one) open/closed status?

I'm using an Android Pixel 2XL.

I've never heard of the windows/moonroof status being displayed on the app ever.

 

On the Toyota website, when you go to the remote connect page, states you can view the status of several things including windows. Further, in the remote connect app on my phone, under Notification settings, vehicle alerts, you can enable/disable notifications for doors, hazards, hood, moonroof and windows.

I asked the sales guy I got my truck from about it and he said, yes, it should show window status, but he didn't know why it wasn't working. He thought it might be a Android vs Iphone thing???

I don't really know how much I would use this feature in my use. I'm retired and don't leave my vehicle parked places for long duration. I'm more curious than anything. I certainly won't be renewing at $80 a year...

iOS user here. I get alerts if the moon roof is open but can't close it. However, I don't get alerts about the back window being open. That is annoying. Why couldn't that have been included as well.
I had a Hyundai before this and for their similar service they wanted about $300 so this seems like a bargain.

 

How about the door windows? Does it display them?

I don't believe it alerts on the windows either. Also no way to control the windows.

Whats also interesting is that the Apple Watch app has more options then the iOS app. I can turn the hazards on which I can't do with the phone app. Weird...

 

Ah okay. Checked it out. Probably it's dependent on the vehicle. Has quite a few features listed that my app doesn't allow me to access; Hazard lights, windows, climate control. I'm assuming its available other "luxury" and/or higher end models such as highlander, landcruiser, avalon etc.

• Start vehicle
• Operate climate controls (if equipped)
• Find your vehicle in a parking lot
• Monitor guest drivers
• View Vehicle Status notifications
• Doors
• Rear Doors
• Windows
• Rear Window (if equipped)
• Hood
• Trunk
• Moon-roof (if equipped)

 

Are you saying my Limited isn't "luxury"! I disagree!

Mine has tire pressure, though not originally, it was added in a update recently, I think.

 

That’s what I’m hoping will happen. That eventually we’ll get the other stuff added too.

 

When viewing the remote connect app (iOS) my 2020 TRD DC OR reports back on Driver Side / Passenger side door status, hood status, and moonroof status...

 

My Android does everything you listed except moon roof. I also get tire pressure on a different screen, as well as last location parked.

 

Update for Monday 6/22/2020. Just got an update to my Android phone app this morning and I can see more status items now... They have added "Window" to both the driver's and passenger's side (only one for each side, so I don't know if it's for the front, back or somehow both???) and the moonroof has been added as well. Still don't have the back window though.

Bought my 2020 TRD OR in Feb 2020 and I had Moonroof displayed for a few months, then after an update it disappeared. Still gone, and now I can’t get a status at all on anything.

 

I came here looking to answer this same question... I have a 2021 DCSB OR and am playing with the free trial of connected services. I have the latest android version of the app (v 1.2.10 3/8/2022). The google play store description of the app includes door window status (see screen shot) but I don't see that in the app when showing status for my truck. Not something included in Tacomas? Wondering if this is the same with other 2021 owners?
