Anyone investigate what size this button is? Could a MESO overhead switch panel be installed and this would fit in a small switch blank? Picture stolen from another thread.

I found myself staring at that switch long and hard the other day, thinking the exact same thing. It will be interesting to see if anyone has looked at this yet. Knowing this community, it's only a matter of time.

Yeah, was wondering if anyone's jumped in there yet. But I just decided to get a Switch Pro so it won't be me.

Long time reader "even as a Tundra driver", just bought a 2020 Tacoma and decided to join in the fun. Anyway, this SOS button is driving me crazy, I think it is due to it being the only red light in the truck. Does anyone know if there is a blank to put in its place, like on the other side of the picture shown? I would like to pop the switch off and tuck the wire harness behind the blank panel. Any help would be greatly appreciated, my local Toyota parts guy was not even aware of any "sos" button!

Do you have to lift a cover to activate it? It looks like there’s clear plastic over the button. Sorry not related to topic but I didn’t realize they were putting buttons like this in the new Tacoma

Yes, there is a clear cover that needs to be lifted prior to pressing the button. Also you have to call Toyota and have their monitoring stopped.

That’s about the most out of place thing I’ve ever seen in a vehicle. It is a different size, different color, and has a safety cover. It also says SOS (save our ship). Did this come from a marine store? Cmon Toyota. I think I saw one of these at Boaters World the other day in the discount bin

Being the only red light and green light in the truck, it drives me crazy! Plus I am my own personal SOS button.
