Hi, I hate the fact that the Passenger door does not have an exterior door key. I'm considering adding the following but would like to see if others have done this using this OEM KIt - before I commit to install. Any issues will install ?? Fairly easy and straightforward? Any cautions ??? Thanks!!!

2020 Tacoma SR without Remote Key less entry - OEM kit add. Pricing around $125 range. Ebay / Toyota dealers online.

Free bump, (I havent installed it and wont be installing it on my 2017 TRD nor 2012 SR5).

That said, that looks like a 100% generic keyless entry module with Tacoma specific instructions. Looks like it uses the plastic t-tap (that I personally hate). Module looks like basic old DEI module to me. I wouldn't pay toyota $125 for that.

My (worthless 2 cents). I wouldn't buy it. I would probably do one of a few options:
    1. (Cheap option) Buy a ~$25 keyless entry and wire it in using the handy schematic and instructions you already found, and splice into the truck harness by soldering or crimping.
    2. (More Expensive) Go with something a bit more 'high class' that uses a T harness and you dont have to hack into the truck wiring. I think there are a few options... (such as ADS-THR-TL5 harness + module or some kits represented here on TW). For not too much more money you can probably add some much greater range and remote start too.

But I am no expert on this.

I'd install it if can use the combo key and not have the separate FOB

It looks a lot like the keyless entry my 2000 T4R had. It was a port installed 'OEM' option. Had the vehicle for 17 years, never had a problem with it.
