Where has there been proof that the 2020 MT is not getting the push start? It’s all speculation from I’ve read. Just because it wasn’t announced, doesn’t mean they won’t include the push start for MT trucks.

There was no mention of changes with the MT on 2020s, so the assumption is status quo for it. I'd love to be pleasantly surprised though!

This makes me wish I did get the tech package with my MT now. I really don't remember why I didn't do it. I think i was coming off of my second gen afraid to get to techy with the taco.

I've had some odd experiences with people and MT in the past, but that one is seriously strange.
What's there to 'get' about the manual? If you're asking I would assume you know it comes with a 3rd petal and large stick in the middle o_O

Apparently there are plenty of people who don’t like the smart key and Push to Start systems still out there. Just look at the 4Runner forums talking about the 2020 4Runner Pro getting PTS, seems like the consensus over there is that they don’t want PTS.
I think leaving it out with the Manual Trans was Toyota’s way of offering the TRDs to those who still want a physical key, I guess they figure if you want old school manual transmission, you will want an old school manual key also, you know how Toyota likes to package options.

I'm one of those people haha but I'll take PTS all day long if it means I can keep my MT

Good question, FJ Army green ? or a real cool Olive Drab. Found these pics, last one could be it, less the red lipstick stuff...

but why? that's the strangest thing..

Comparing the keys, the H-key has a head and a shaft (ha!) and the smart key is smaller rectangle with nothing to poke you. It's symmetrical, fits in your pocket nicely.

keyless entry, because of the smart key you can unlock doors without having to press a button on the key. Especially useful when you're carrying stuff

Once you're in the car, you don't have to get the key, put it in the ignition and turn it to start. You can simply put you foot on the brakes and press the button

It is in every way more convenient to have PTS

I'm failing to see the logic here on why anyone would be against PTS unless there is no logic and it's purely "don't change anything" mentality

honestly, I physically like turning the key. My Harley is electric start (so kinda push-button) and it's not as much fun

Didn't want to say it, but I agree. I'm sure people who like the old school key have their reasons, but I see no downside to PTS/smart keys. Don't have to dig it out of your pocket, figure out what button to push to lock/unlock the doors, or try to line up the key when putting it in the ignition. Just put hand on the handle to open the door and hop in and push a button, and away you go.

Wonder if you could push start a Manual that has a PBS system?

that's a great question.....maybe not if you need your foot on the brake to start it? Guess it depends if that's in the ignition circuit like on the ATs

Yes, my 2014 Audi A4 was was MT and PTS/PBS equipped.. i was able to push and drop the clutch to start it if that's what you mean by push start a manual. I think I had shove the key in the hole under the steering wheel though...

Year's ago I was in the middle of BFE Kentucky on a Sunday night and naturally the starter failed. Was so happy to give the car a shove and get on my way out of there.

Those headlights are dope. I was thinking about going for the one's that Tacomabeast sells, but I like how the drls on the new headlights wrap all all the way around, basically. I would imagine these units will be pricey.

Had a 2003 A4. I pushed started it in reverse after battery died and it was parked on an incline. Just released parking brake and let it roll backwards until i could get it to jump back to life again. Lol

If power seats mean height adjustable, I'm trading in my '17 OR for a 2020 for sure. It's a no-brainer, the Tacoma seats as they sit now are the most uncomfortable seats I've ever plopped my ass down on.

might be cheaper to actually upgrade the seats in your truck, you don't get the warranty on them but still.
