Did you guys really expect significant changes?

It’s way too early in the Gen 3 lifecycle to expect anything more than cosmetic and electronic updates. I wouldn’t expect a ground up redesign for at least a few more years and would expect to see spy shots of test mules well before a Gen 4 release. My guess is that we’ll see the new Tundra and 4Runner before a new Tacoma, so maybe 3-5 years.

I am sure they slapped the TSB trany that many of us got, and let it go.
I am surprised they did some changes to the Tacoma. They are seeing how quick other manufacturers are moving ahead. And they have to keep up.

I’m completely content with my 17’. Definitely not worth selling/trading in any 16/17/18/19, for what they’ve added. Power seats might be the nicest added amenity

I’m still waiting for that rear slider window to be available on the Tacoma like the Tundra.

We (existing owners) are NOT the target demographic of this upgrade....

Do the new headlights really glow "TRD" and "PRO" on the bottom.... Because that's actually kinda badass.

Yeah i'm puzzled why people are confused it's not that much different than the current model. This is what Toyota does, mild mid cycle refresh.

Looking for images of the trucks on the show floor in Chicago. Anyone seen some published yet?

Looked like they had a cement OR and LIMITED.

I kinda thought they might make some more notable cosmetic changes to the front or something a'la the refresh of the 2nd gens. That said, I'm glad they didn't as it keeps mine from looking "old" by comparison.

I can see it now: Extra legroom in the back seat, but the short bed is now 4'. You'll need to spring for the long bed if you want a full 5' bed.

I'm sure we'll see that when they bring AWD to the Camry within the next few years.

Lots of complaints but i think this is a pretty decent refresh, engine/transmission upgrades should not be expected on a mid cycle refresh

    LED lights
    Panoramic camera
    Apple Carplay/Android auto
    New PRO wheels 4# lighter
    Power driver seat

    YES YES YES YES OK

Glad they didn't make the 6MT an option on the ACLB OR. That may have been enough to tip my scale. Or at least really piss me off.

Right LOL. I swear second gen owners would rather have us back in western times.

Fact is Toyota addressed the main shortcomings of the current Tacoma besides changing the drivetrain which was never going to happen anyway.
If you look this is a completely new audio headunit in the 2020, not just new software. I bet the body harness is different as well.
