Those saying this isn't a worthy LCI aren't seeing the big picture - it addresses two of the three major factors with the current Tacoma: tech and comfort. Apple Car Play/Android Auto are a very welcome addition and the power adjustable seats (namely seat height) will no longer make you feel like you are sitting on top of the truck. That 3.5L isn't going anywhere for a long while; one can only hope its revised for the 4th gen Tacoma/5th gen Tundra.

We bought my wife a 2018 Outback which has Apple CarPlay and a completely new HU made by a different manufacturer then the 2017. But they sent out a firmware update for the 2016-2017 to add Apple CarPlay.

I’ll take one. Mostly for the power driver’s seat, new headlamps and head unit. My biggest complaints with my 2017 OR.

I traded my 2013 DCLB Sport for a 2019 Sport DCLB 4x4 a few weeks ago. After hearing about “big changes” for 2020, the possibility of regret became a concern lol. After seeing the changes, I like my ‘19 just fine.

Don’t care about apple/android. Electric driver seat would be nice, but my manual seat will always operate. And still no remote start!?

I bet the price jumps ridiculously on the new models as well. I think the changes are a bit lackluster and leave some to be desired. Oh well... there’s always 2021 lol

I don't think this will be ass cool as people are thinking. If it is anything resembling the view from the birdseye offered on the Rav it is not gonna be great. Add in off road stuff and it might be useless. We'll see.

Considering how filled these forums have been with people crying about the lack of power seats and apple carplay, it would seem that 2020 would be a truck to rave about. But I guess we just come here to complain right? :goingcrazy:

I don't think the cameras are actually under the truck if it's setup like the land cruiser. The cameras are in the front/back and under the side mirrors.

Out of sight out of mind. They know people are gonna buy it if it had drums or discs.

Maybe that’ll be what differentiates the future 4th gen from this truck.

Jeebus Christ, some of you fuckers just like to hear yourself bitch and complain.

The head unit is a huge update. Anyone who thought the engine or transmission was going to receive a change are living in a different dimension.

Factory locking tailgate is an option.

Gotcha. This is the article I read.. guess it was a little misleading

    https://www.motortrend.com/cars/toy...-tacoma-first-look-popular-truck-gets-update/

“TRD Off-Road models get most of the same upgrades and options found on the 2020 TRD Sport. But to improve its off-road capability, Toyota also added an optional system it calls a Multi-Terrain Monitor, which shows what's underneath the truck. Bilstein shocks, a locking rear differential, hill start assist, crawl control, and multiple off-road modes come standard.”

Lol, def not trading for power seats.
Which is literally the only new option worth a shit.
Guess i'll keep this one for awhile.

It's not factory per say. The gulf states installs pop and locks at the port. Not an option for a big portion of the country.
