I can't remember what thread it was in now, but there was a user on this forum who seemed to be extra knowledgeable about Toyota's plans for the Tacoma. He said the fourth gen would be on the new TNGA for model year 2024 and released in the fall of 2023.

The Army Green looks great in the still image, but then it looks meh in the actual video. Toyota went more of the forest service route vs tactical with their selection of green.

The review is pretty inspiring though, it actually makes me excited to see what Toyota will offer in the future regarding Tacos and Tundras.

Almost makes me want to trade my '18 Cement in for a '20 Voodoo Blue Offroad. I'm interested to see how much the prices will increase.

And the Tundra has had the same drivetrain since 2007. Same 5.7L with the same 6 speed with the same output numbers. 2014 was more of a refresh, similar to the 2020 Taco refresh. They're both more like generation 3.5s.

That army green doesn't look good in real sunlight in my opinion. The shift points may or may not be better, I would say they didn't have enough miles on the truck for the transmission to learn, mine feels great too on a reset. If they did figure out the software on the transmission, there is no reason why that can't be applied to all the trucks with a update. The apple CarPlay is a long needed addition, the power seat finally gets them even with vehicles from the 90's.

I think they will probably stick with their 10 year plan since they are doing the refresh at 4/5 years it seems pretty in line with what they normally do.

The 2020 4Runner jumped almost $3k in price. I bet the 2020 TRD Pro Tacoma will suffer the same fate. My guess is almost $50k with an automatic transmission. This minor refresh will keep the Tacoma good to go until the 2024 4th generation arrives.

It was also missing the skid plate too when the official pics dropped. Just prototype stuff I would wager.
