I had my rear drums re-laced and the front discs turned. It helped but, the vibration while coming to a stop is still present. I have an appointment next Wednesday to take it in for the tsb.

I got to go along for the drive . Driveshaft out in 4 hi. Thought it would hop around corners but it was smooth. Fed truck.
They did do the tab as the truck drove okay.

If you apply the hand brake while moving and it shakes it’s the drums.

Update: Went to my appointment today. Tech supervisor and master tech checked out truck. Found nothing wrong. I drove another truck like mine and it exhibited the same problem. I have to conclude it’s normal. It’s not a bad vibration, just noticeable. I’ll live with it until my first service to see if it improves as it has for some on here.

My truck warped the drums again, there has to be something wrong with the brakes. Bringing back to stealership.

I have the exact same truck as you and have had nothing but issues since 4,000 mi. I get the vibration when coming to a stop pretty bad and also torque converter shudder

colin b did you ever figure this out?i have a 2020 doublecab bought with 6000 miles.soons i drove it home i noticed it and went back.they performed the leaf spring tsb and replaced drums but not shoes..it got better but still there...now almost 4000 miles later and its starting to get worse as time goes on. i replaced front brakes and rotors with ebc and brembo and bleed the brake lines..i had a shit ton of air in my front drivers brake line..weird...but anyways i have read that some people have had axles replaced bc the axle flange is just a hair smaller then it should be...i bought some calipers and will measure mine this weekend and if it is out of spec i will be going back to get them replaced...they should be 107.94 mm to 108mm i believe...theres a tsb for it so you can find it and double check themeasurements. im interested as to how your issues goes and if theres any remedy.im about to go to a driveline shop soon and get it measured since i dont trust these dealerships.most are young kids with no experience who dont give a shit.everythings normal they say.its a truck and they act likeyour a pain in the ass and exxpecting it to ride like a car...pisses me off..ive had trucks, jeeps etc and whatever this is isnt normal by any ,means.could be a defect and alot have it but that doesnt make iyt normal..after i check the adxles,do rear brakes and drums and check tranny level(dealerships no help with that)and the issues persists then i will be contacting toyota and sere if they will help or ill bring up a buyback...we should not have to deal with this....ive read alot have low fluid from factory especially if you have a tranny cooler.they want you to leave it overnight but dont offer a loaner so i gpotta do it myself..good luck and please keep us posted.

Don't understand this vibration issue...is it just related to the dd dc models? My buddies 2019 trd dd dc has a faint oscillating vibration you can detect throughout the cab, but i don't think its enough to complain about as he's said it hasn't got worse...been there since new. My 2020 access cab has zero anything...feels normal just like our prius.

I went to my dealer, they said "they did not feel the vibration". this thing is driving me nuts. the vibration is there!! tiny, but there. I think they are just trying not to do it.
I am going tomorrow to the dealer again for another drive with the senior tech. i really dont know to do.

Beginning to think some owner are nuts, or think they bought a luxury car.....maybe both.

the dealer said that the tsb does not cover the TRD Pro because the tsb mentions that "ALL TRD Off-Road package vehicles produced AFTER the effective VIN" and they considered the TRD PRO as a TRD Off-Road Package.

Iv had the same thing for at least a year, dealer keep saying it was my brakes and replace them both times. Eventually I just got used to it. But just decided to switch to a F150 for the size due to a new addition to our family and the thing drives like a dream. I think it a problem with the 3rd generation Tacomas that Toyota either doesn't want to address or just not enough people complain about it for them to do anything.

Well it must be with only certain trims, and certain trucks. I would think if a real issue toyota wouldn't be selling very many by now. I can tell you between a friend of mine gen3 trd, and my 2020 sr5 theres very little to complain about. If i see dozens of gen3's on the roads everyday here running just fine. Imo, its ones that have messed with lifts, and bigger tires that seem to be the loudest whiners.

As much as I agree it's probably a small amount with the problem. But I disagree about the lift and tires, not saying it won't make it worse because a lift and tires will. But I bought a brand new 2019 SR5 and had the problem. Bad enough that other people that drove the truck said something is wrong. Took it to the dealer twice and keep being told it was brake rotors. This was on a new truck with no miles and no lift or tires.

You can search the forms, there are a bunch of these threads asking about vibrations in the 3rd gens.
