So i have a 2020 tacoma trd pro that i’m only using mainly for overlanding, when its raining and it gets really cold like 40s the center screen turns on and off, when i try to close the door the truck beeps twice thinking that the keyfob is inside, and eventually discharging the battery after few hours.

i did checked all my wiring and take note that the truck is parked outside. Engine bay totally dry, it happens to me once a year during winter months and just goes away

My Corolla lost a splash guard on the freeway years ago (something that was unavoidable on the ground). Water corroded the serpentine belt, and alternator stopped charging due to slipping.

I finally figured it out when the battery light was coming on one night on the freeway when it was raining, months later, and the dealer told me the bad news.

You have a 2020, a few miles on that belt, I suppose.

You sure its not a bad door switch?
I don't think you can lock the doors with a door open?
And an open door could keep the truck alive and drain the battery.

Just a thought, I don't have 3rd gen to try it on.

Yes i did checked the door switch, everything is fine. See the truck was parked in my driveway and when i gets cold the temp screen blinks, the voltimeter on the 12v splitter blinks, center screen turns on and off, i did not even drive the truck. I was just park.

No mechanic here but I suspect a faulty battery. Usually a parts store will check it for free.

Check the battery connections. If you have any added-on fuse panels or a power junction block check all those connections too

Do you have an electric heater or something that would pull more power when it’s cold?

I'm thinking exposed bit of wiring and the dampness in the air is grounding it out

Checked all the wiring and put some ground paste to make sure we have good contact. Now my old mechanic tapped the aux beam switch to ecu without using add a fuse. Basically he wrapped the wire around the fuse and plugged it straight. I did add a fuse and moved the power wire to usb 7amp with a 5amp tap
