I go over Snoqualmie Pass occasionally for trips to Chelan and Ellensburg. The MT rocks it out, no problems. Stays in the gear I ask of it.

Maybe trade in your slush box AT for MT and solve the problem?

Some people can't drive a MT but I would suggest maybe learning? It's really a nice option.

I believe you can only get it in the "sport" package now.

Source? You're inferring the MT is only available in Sport trim for 2020?

Source: Looking at all the tacomas avaliable on the lot for 2 months... only MT's in the Sports
Based on the tacoma website Sports, TRD offroad, TRD Pro. Not avaliable in the SR/SR5/ Limited.
Im pretty sure that has been the option for a year or so.

I wondered about that too, but I believe that is a pre-production truck so it still may have the black ones.

Nice find, it seems like to me that there is indeed an updated flash of the transmission from the 19 models. Will be interesting to see when more people get their hands on one.

Agreed, if you go onto toyotas website of the 2020 tacoma you can see the front of the 2020 tacoma trd pro in white. It appears as though the front fender flares are black.

    ^^^^ Fixed it

We all love our Tacomas deeply, which is why we have such high expectations of them. Kinda like marriage......it brings out complaints you would never voice about your cashier or your waiter.

I would be more than OK with Toyota stealing a bunch more of those inline 6 Supra engines from BMW for the Taco. Probably an expensive engine and all that power likely means not great fuel economy and premium gas.

I just got a 2019 TRD OR and it definitely hunts for gears. Did the software update drastically change anything? And how do I find out if my truck needs it? I looked up my VIN on the toyota website and I just have the "recall" for the radar sensor getting wet and shutting off.

Hey guys, new here just looking into getting 2020 Taco. This transmission thing is on my list of concerns with buying truck. Found this on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XxBWZGQIScI, not the easiest mod or cheap but I was thinking of this option to mitigate the issue if I am to get the truck.

Another video of them discussing the gearing. summarized details in the description of the video too.

    Cheers

I think no black flares look a little more refined on a high price vehicle, but I do prefer black fender flares.

I think he's repeating the marketing material which my guess was referencing the tsb.

    DOWNHILL GEARING!

    Referenced in the 2nd video.

Probably the shortest, most PC, and accurate assessment of the powertrain.

I do believe the narrator had a SLIGHT hint of sarcasm when he said it.
